Who doesn’t like a hot brewing cup of tea? But what if we tell you that the tastiest and healthiest way of making is also the easiest one? Yes, it does sound like a good news, as it is. Well, a recent study has revealed that if you microwave your tea then not just it tastes good, but it also becomes healthy. Read the whole story, and like a cup of tea, it will make your day.
Here is a good news for avid tea drinkers. They can now sip on their favorite cup of tea without any guilt since researchers have found out a way to prepare tea which makes it tasty and healthy.
University of Newcastle’s researcher Quan Vuong has researched on the science of tea making and drinking. And as a result of his research, the good fella has come up with a tastiest and healthiest way of preparing the tea.
He revealed that instead of pouring it into boiling water if you rather microwave it in a cup or pot for about 30 seconds then the brewing cup of tea becomes healthier and tastier.
Vuong claims that when we microwave the tea, the bioactive compounds in it get activated, including amino acid theanine, polyphenols, and caffeine. Which is very important. Since polyphenols are antioxidants that help lower risk of cardiovascular disease, cholesterol, hypertension and even diabetes.
Why we couldn’t get it while we dip our tea bags for about half a minute in the cup, is because it extracts only 10% of its benefits. And order to get all the benefits out of the tea we should brew it for 20 minutes at 80 degrees.
He says “This method resulted in a tasty cup that extracted about 80 percent of the good compounds. The microwave doesn’t just heat the water it helps extract the compounds too”
He also says that the methods are beneficial for all type of tea. Also, three cups a day are recommended by the researcher for best results.
