Singapore's Education System is More Successful Than Any Other Nation

Singapore is popularly known for its strong education system in the whole world. They have the best students as compared to other nations. Why are we not like them? If we talk about Singapore’s education system, they are following such things that we do not follow. These things are important to make our education system much better.

The education system here is much flexible than ours. Teachers here are more focussed on making their students learn rather than teaching them. There are many other things that make Singapore’s educational system much better and successful than any other nation in the world.

Do you want to know the reason behind this? Have a look

1. They have high teaching standards

This is the main reason why Singapore has the best education system and why we don’t have it. Here in Singapore, teachers are first properly screened, trained and developed professionally before finally hiring them.

If we talk about the students, only the top third graduates are selected who have a strong academic ability as they have to undergo training recommended by the National Institute of Education (NIE). After training completion, the teachers are also asked to attend a professional course of 100 hours.

2. They have a different learning strategy ‘Teach less and learn more’

The government of Singapore has adopted a unique learning strategy which is known as ‘Teach Less, Learn More’ to focus on educations’ quality, not on quantity. Parents also play an important role in shaping their child’s careers. They help their kids with the necessary educational resources, books, and extra classes. Even the libraries here are stuffed with lots of educational books to support these students.

3. They don’t keep focus only on marks

Do you know students in Singapore aged six to eight are not evaluated on examinations and are motivated to inculcate self-learning? The ministry here is focused more on reducing stress by not laying emphasis only on marks. Instead, they try to focus on traditional learning. Students here are encouraged to become lifelong learners.

4. They have a unique English literacy programme ‘STELLAR’

Strategies for English Language Learning and Reading or (STELLAR) is a literacy program conducted in Singapore in which students are made familiar with multilingual languages with the help of role plays and drama techniques.

5. They follow a Mastery of Maths System

Yes! We all are scared of doing those calculations. But students here are a pro in doing calculations. All thanks to the mastery approach mathematics where students learn mathematics using visual and hands-on aids like blocks, cards and bar charts. Besides this, they are also given enough time to learn the tricks and approaches as they can’t move to the next level before passing the previous one.

Conclusion

So, these were the main reasons that make Singapore’s education system so much successful and most unique. We also wish that we get such a system so that we also become brilliant like them.
