A Study Revealed that Travelling Makes you Happier Than Getting Married

What is travelling? It’s not just a word, it’s more than what it is. It has a different meaning for different people. It is a feeling, new experiences, or you can say new learning in life. According to a global study conducted by booking.com, it was revealed that travel makes us happier than getting hitched to someone, getting your dream job or making kids. About 17,000 people from 17 countries have been questioned as a part of the study, the finding was that travel makes them happier than anything else to uplift their mood instantly. Let’s have a look at more stats and the findings of the study and what people have to say about travelling and how it has changed their life.

1. Travelling instantly uplifts your mood and makes you happy

Booking.com has interviewed approx 17,000 people from 17 countries to know about their views on travelling. They responded that nothing has made them happier than travelling. 77% of people said that they book a holiday or go on a vacation to make themselves happy.

2. Travelling brings more happiness than other happy events in life

Even some of the people have said that they value travelling more than the other happy events in their life like getting married, going on a honeymoon or making kids. 49% of them said they felt happier when they went on a planned vacation more than their wedding. 45% said that even getting engaged doesn’t make them happy like travelling did and others said having a baby even can’t give you the pleasure like given by travelling.

3. Buying your favourite things can’t give you true pleasure as travelling does

It also came out that people don’t feel happy about purchasing their favourite things like going on travelling as it helps you get new experiences. 70% of them said travelling makes you feel happy and satiated more than buying anything. 56% of people said they would prefer going on a vacation more than buying new clothes or gadgets.

4. Planning for a vacation improves one’s emotional well-being

72% of the respondents have said that even planning for a vacation makes them feel happy. 80% of people feel way more excited just looking at the places on the map or imagining about their future trip. It means even thinking about travelling makes people so happy which anything else cannot make them.

5. Most of them chose to travel besides going on a date with a partner

The findings of the study have also revealed that travel does not make people happy in the short-term but also most of them prefer to book a holiday instead of going on a date with their partner which is actually hilarious.

So, now you know why travelling is more important than any other thing in your life as it makes you feel happy and satisfied in the long-run. Where are you planning your next vacation and with whom?

“It was the middle of winter and it was so wet and started hailing. I was getting hit in the face with hailstones that were bouncing off the ground and I was lying in the mud. I never thought ‘screw this I want to be a travel blogger’ but I wanted to create a life on my own terms, where I could be my own boss. I knew if I could make a living online somehow I could travel more so I focused on that.” – Nathan

No money? No problem!

Here’s what you need to do

The event takes place by introducing people to various art galleries in Atlanta. They allow visitors to take a stroll through various art galleries in Atlanta. The final art walk comprises of Castleberry Hill that represents the history and artwork of this famous district.

This is a fantastic way to get in contact with the momentous history of Atlanta. Not only this but, you will also find yourself wandering in some new and unexplored areas.

2. Olympic Park

The Olympic Park is a 21-acre park that acts as a living legacy of the Olympic Games that were hosted in 1996. Except for the history of the place, there is a lot to do and have fun. Don’t worry about what you will be spending in the park because all the activities, including lunch, music, and concerts, are free.

Every Wednesday the park hosts a mini-concert with a talented local musician; this is the time when you have to pay $5 upon entrance. Don’t forget to visit the beautiful Fountain of Rings when you are there.

5. Atlanta Contemporary Art Gallery

Free art and culture by regional, national and international artists in the Atlanta Contemporary Art Gallery holds six to ten exhibits annually. After 2015, access to the gallery is available. Bonus: When you remain in town on a Thursday, you can go to an exhibition and attend a special event or show in the museum, called Modern Cocktails. The entrance is free, but a cash bar serving drinks every week requires another regional bartender.

6. Brewery Tour

Get yourself drowning in some of the best booze in the city or even the state! Throughout Georgia, there are many craft breweries so that beer lovers can taste their local produce throughout a few ways. Almost all of these tours are inexpensive and cost approximately $12, but that means five or more samples of around 36 ounces, including a pint glass of souvenir. The Second Self Brewery, the red hair pub, and Monday night brewing are some of the divisions to be tried out.
