Booking.com has interviewed approx 17,000 people from 17 countries to know about their views on travelling. They responded that nothing has made them happier than travelling. 77% of people said that they book a holiday or go on a vacation to make themselves happy.
2. Travelling brings more happiness than other happy events in life
Even some of the people have said that they value travelling more than the other happy events in their life like getting married, going on a honeymoon or making kids. 49% of them said they felt happier when they went on a planned vacation more than their wedding. 45% said that even getting engaged doesn’t make them happy like travelling did and others said having a baby even can’t give you the pleasure like given by travelling.
3. Buying your favourite things can’t give you true pleasure as travelling does
It also came out that people don’t feel happy about purchasing their favourite things like going on travelling as it helps you get new experiences. 70% of them said travelling makes you feel happy and satiated more than buying anything. 56% of people said they would prefer going on a vacation more than buying new clothes or gadgets.
4. Planning for a vacation improves one’s emotional well-being
72% of the respondents have said that even planning for a vacation makes them feel happy. 80% of people feel way more excited just looking at the places on the map or imagining about their future trip. It means even thinking about travelling makes people so happy which anything else cannot make them.
5. Most of them chose to travel besides going on a date with a partner
The findings of the study have also revealed that travel does not make people happy in the short-term but also most of them prefer to book a holiday instead of going on a date with their partner which is actually hilarious.
