The lady named, Chinu Kala who left her home in Mumbai with just Rs. 300 due to some family issues going on in her family to start a new life.

Chinu started her success story at the age of 15
Chinu is an entrepreneur and former Mrs India finalist as well as a socialite. She started her story of success when she was just 15. She used to do door-to-door selling of knives and coasters to get Rs. 20 in a day. As she does not have any support from her family, so she tried a variety of jobs to manager her expenses for long eight years.
She says, “These initial years toughened me up and taught me that nothing comes easy in life. I slowly worked my way up the ladder.”
She started modelling in 2006 and launched Ruban’s Accessories
In 2006, Chinu began to do modelling and then she also participated in Gladrags Mrs India Pageant, 2008 after insisting by her friends. But after sometimes, she realised that modelling was not her cup of tea, so she left that. Then, she started her first venture, Fonte Corporate Solutions which was a merchandising start-up in 2008.
Through her business, she has learnt a lot of things by meeting consumer demands with products and services to meet their expectation. It was then she realises that there is a huge gap in the Indian jewellery industry.
In 2014, she finally decided to close Fonte Corporate Solutions and founded Ruban’s Accessories which was in Phoenix Mall, Bengaluru. For some time, she struggled a lot in selling her jewellery directly to customers and her customer base started declining day-by-day.
Therefore, she decided to shut down all her offline stores and planned to start selling jewellery online through different platforms like Flipkart, Myntra, and Jabong to grow her customer base. Her brand now receives 1,000 orders online daily. Besides this, she also sells her jewellery to the US and UK through her own portal.
Her team consists of 20 employees in totality including five designers who make the designs. Chinu says, her business was making money since the day one so she was pretty confident of making more money through her business. In FY 2014-2015, Ruban’s has received a turnover of around Rs. 3.75 crores.
The business has also been launched in the US through Amazon and is also planning to launch in the European market as well. While in 2016-17, they got the revenue of over 56 lakh and Rs. 7.5 crore revenue by the end of the year.
Ruban’s team is planning to work hard and achieve a mission of Rs. 150 crores by the year 2024. Chinu is also planning to add some more vendors across India to sell her jewellery and increase customers.
