Stranger Things is an American science fiction horror drama television series created by the Duffer Brothers.
Stranger Things season 5 is coming to Netflix, but not anytime soon, giving you time to recover from the events of season four.
The stage has now been set for the gang to have one showdown to save Hawkins and the world. Can they close the door on the Upside Down for good and learn to live normal lives?
With Stranger Things season 5 confirmed by creators the Duffer Brothers as being the show’s last, there is certainly a hell of a lot of ground to cover.
Here’s everything you need to know about when you can see the final season on Netflix.
Will there be a Stranger Things 5?
Yes, Stranger Things season 5 is happening – and it will be the final season.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ross Duffer previously said: “Season four won’t be the end. We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The pandemic] has given us time to look ahead, and figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gives us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story.”
It sounds like the Duffer brothers are confident that they can deliver another iconic season of the show. It is a great sign considering how incredible season 4 was.
When will Stranger Things 5 be released?
Well, that all depends on when the season begins filming. In August 2022, the Duffer brothers confirmed that they have started writing season 5. Other cast members have hinted that filming could begin around mid-2023. It could indicate a possible late-2024 release date. (Although, that’s unconfirmed right now.)
Who will be in the cast of season 5 of Stranger Things?

And most like the main cast will return: Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Noah Schnapp (Will), Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Sadie Sink (Max), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Joe Keery (Steve), Priah Ferguson (Erica), and Winona Ryder (Joyce).

Yes. We just don’t know what it will be about yet. (Though Finn Wolfhard has already figured it out.)
“There’s a version of it developing in parallel [to season 5]. But they would never shoot it parallel,” Ross Duffer told Variety. “I think we’re going to start delving into that as soon as we’re winding down and finishing these visual effects, Matt and I are going to start getting into it.”
Matt Duffer added, “It’s going to be different than what anyone is expecting, including Netflix.” Intriguing indeed.
