A Four-days Working Week With Six-hours Workdays Finland

After such a long Christmas and New Year Break, workers around the globe have dragged themselves back to the office. And now, there is another good reason to celebrate again. The news which has become the talk of the town among workers nowadays. Do you know what’s that? I am talking about the recent proposal that has been reportedly made by the newly elected youngest Prime Minister of Finland, Sana Marin.

So, what is the proposal?

Sanna Marin has proposed the idea of a four-day-week and six-hour working day work schedule for the citizens of her country. Isn’t that amazing way to promote a healthy working life?

What’s the motive behind this proposal?

The main motive behind bringing this proposal is to promote a healthy work living among the employees of her country. So, this proposal would allow the members of her country to spend more time with their loved ones and family, said Sana Marin. She also added that with this type of comfortable work schedule, people could also invest their time in other aspects of their life as well.

Have a look at what Sana Marin has said

“I believe people deserve to spend more time with their families, loved ones, hobbies and other aspects of life, such as culture. This could be the next step for us in working life,” Sanna Marin said, The Daily Mail reports.

Do you know Sana Marin is the world’s youngest Prime Minister?

Sana Marin is just 34, would you believe that? She is the newly elected and world’s youngest Prime Minister. During her tenure as the Minister of Transport for Finland, Marin had recommended shorter work-weeks for the citizens of her country.

Currently, Finland is following a five-day-week and eight-hour working day work schedule.

Meanwhile, Twitter is happy after knowing this idea

Well, Sana’s proposal of a four-day-week has been supported by Li Andersson, Minister of Education.

She said, “It is important to allow Finnish citizens to work less. It is not a question of governing with a feminine style but offering help and keeping promises to voters.”

Do you know a similar type of idea was tested in Sweden in the year 2015? The proposal was a six-hour working day which gave a positive result and thus leading to better productivity by happy employees.

While others have varying opinions after knowing about this idea

The proposal hasn’t been finalized yet

After the news went viral, the Finnish Government has released the statement saying the issue is not yet on the Government’s agenda.

Australia Orders To Shoot 10000 Feral Camels From The Helicopter As A Solution To Bushfires

Australia Orders To Shoot 10000 Feral Camels

You might have heard that Australia is going through a lot these days. A lot of destruction is going on there due to the bushfires due to which many animals are also dying. Not only this, but it is also running out of the water and now everyone is trying to save it. And what’s funnier is the solution that authorities have come up with to save more water in such a drought-ravaged region and that is by killing or shooting the thousands of feral camels in South Australia, so that they should not drink the water in this region.

According to the source, 10,000 camels will be slaughtered by professional shooters in helicopters after an order from Aboriginal leaders in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara lands (AYP).

The locals from nearby communities are also complaining that how these feral creatures have been invading properties in a bid to find water.

Authorities have also concerned that the animals are contributing to global warming as they emit methane equal to one tonne of carbon dioxide in a year.

The Australian quoted APY executive board member, Marita Baker, as, “We have been stuck in stinking hot and uncomfortable conditions, feeling unwell, because the camels are coming in and knocking down fences, getting in around the houses and trying to get to water through air conditioners,” Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara lands executive board member Marita Baker told The Australian.

Meanwhile, the National Feral Camel Management Plan is saying that the feral camel population will get doubled every nine years if there would be no pest control.

The Chief Executive of carbon farming specialists RegenCo has said that ” one million feral camels emitting the effect of a tonne of CO2 per year was the equivalent of an additional 400,000 cars on the road.

So, 24 people have died and more than 1600 homes have been lost due to the horrific bushfires with nearly six million hectares burnt.

What do you think? Is this the best solution or the correct way? Killing animals to save others is not an ideal solution I guess.
