Before we dive in, let me explain my relationship with exercise and fitness in general. I grew up an ordinary kid running around with friends in our yard. In high school, I joined the track team and the swim team. I carried this on to my college days, where I made it to the varsity team in my university. After college, I got into running and joined a few marathons in and around the city.
I am also blessed enough that I live somewhere that allows me to surf a couple of times a year. On days where I’m not training for a marathon or surfing, I hit the gym pretty regularly. As for my diet, I try to stick to eating more fruits and vegetables and avoid fried food and sodas. Fitness has always come easy for me, so when I hear claims such as this, I tend to take it with a grain of salt.
I started smoking weed in my 20s. At first, it was out of curiosity, but I began to smoke it a couple of times a month as a means to de-stress from work and life in general.
I prefer it over going out and drinking. I play a good movie, eat an edible or smoke my pipe, and munch on some chips or nuts (I try to eat healthy even when I’m high). A friend once told me that he tried getting high before he hit the gym and said it was a fantastic experience.
I got curious and made a note to give it a try when the opportunity arose. Well, it did a few weeks later. And my friend was right. I usually feel aches and mild pains during my gym time, and especially when I do yoga but being high has made me not focus on it too much. My breathing was a lot steadier and calmer.

Being high while working out has also given me the freedom to enjoy my workout truly
I didn’t have to continually check the miles I’ve run on the treadmill or the time I’ve spent in the gym. I wasn’t disgruntled by other gym-goers hogging the machine or not wiping it after their use. The feeling was euphoric throughout, and I wondered why I hadn’t done this before. I would be in a better shape if I have this to look forward to every time I exercise.
I did a few research about this, and there is, in fact, a growing trend of workout, at least in places where weed is legal, that involves cannabis use. There is a weed-infused yoga for people to try. A cannabis gym in San Francisco recently opened. And there is a growing number of athletes who get high before they workout or do their training.

Unfortunately, there is not a lot of scientific research done to prove all these claims
In many parts of the United States, cannabis is still considered to be a Schedule I drug. However, the most recent country that just decriminalized the drug in Canada. And it has been easier for eligible users, especially if they buy weed online from Canada.
But times are changing, and people’s views on the plant are also slowly changing. Who knows, we might see the day when buying and using weed is going to be as easy as purchasing alcohol.
