What a proud moment for India and her family! PV Sindhu is the first Indian shuttler to win the World Championship title by winning gold by smashing Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara on in Switzerland last Sunday. With winning this gold medal, Sindhu has now a full set of World Championships i.e. 2 bronze medals, 2 silver medals, and a gold medal after her proven victory.
She was waiting for this moment for so long as now she is the happiest person on earth after defeating her rival, Okuhara who beat her in an epic 110-minute final game at Glasgow two years ago.
Her faith and strong dedication towards herself has made her achieve this awesome victory
Not only she has won gold, bronze and silver medals so far, but she has also won Olympic silver in 2016 Rio Games, silver at Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Asian Games silver at Jakarta in the finals last year.
On losing her two finals last year, and now winning gold, post winning gold she said in an interview, that she is “proud to be an Indian”. And, so are we!
She felt extremely happy and expressed her heartfelt feelings to everyone by saying how important this win was for her after losing it two times back to back. She also thanked the crowd that supported and motivated her a lot to win this. She says, “I won for my country and I am very proud to be an Indian”.
She also gave a vote of thanks to her coach Miss Kim and Gopi Sir and the entire support staff to bring her here. I also want to dedicate this to my parents and especially my mom, it’s her birthday today. So, happy birthday mom.”
On her victory, many leaders also commented on her success like PM Modi, Mamata Banerjee, and Amitabh Bachchan. Have a look at what they have said.
Not only PM Modi congratulated her on her success, even Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal’s CM also congratulated PV Sindhu.
