Addiction is a serious subject, no matter what form and no matter who has it. It is a chronic disorder wherein a person does not have control over what they are doing or using. The worst part is, it can affect a person’s life negatively to the point that it can be very harmful not just to them but to the people around them as well.

What Could Be The Cause Of Addiction?

In truth, the cause of addiction cannot be pinpointed for a single reason. It can come from varied sources such as the environment where people with addiction grew up in or was introduced to it and found this addiction really helpful for them in going through their daily lives. The cause can come from physical factors but may also stem from emotional or mental factors as well.

A problematic household can prompt someone to turn to substance abuse and from there, develops an addiction to said substance. Poor living conditions can also make a person strive for quick and easy money through gambling which later on can become an addiction as well.

What Are The Most Common Types Of Addiction?

Addiction can come in different forms. The most common types would be substance addiction or usually referred to as drug addiction. A lot of people are into this mainly to escape the mental stress that they encounter in their lives.

However, there are also people who do it just for fun and simply because they find it enjoyable to feel high in these substances. Whatever the case is, substance addiction is still unacceptable and can lead to really harmful ends, especially for the one who is addicted. Serious health issues can arise from overuse of substances and can even lead to fatality if overdosed.

Another form of addiction is alcoholism. In this case, an addicted person turns to drink alcohol in order to cope with life. This can lead to serious anger management issues and, of course, health issues. As a result, Alcohol rehabilitation is a must to get someone’s life back to normal. If not overcome, this addiction can do really harmful things to the person’s overall health and well-being.

Addiction can also come in the form of behavior related ones such as problem gambling. Engaging in gambling from time to time cannot be considered an addiction but continuously gambling despite having the desire to stop or experiencing negative repercussions can be a sign of problematic gambling or addictive gambling.

Addiction to gambling gives a rewarding and reinforcing feeling to a gambler who wins and therefore makes this person want for more. And once they lose, this behavior only makes them come for more thinking of the possibility of winning and longing for the feeling of being victorious at it.

Gambling, just like any other form of addiction, can be treated and overcome especially with adequate support from people surrounding the person addicted to gambling. Addiction can be treated and prevented. Its negative effects can be avoided and do not have to be faced alone. Love and support and personal desire to win over addiction can help in fighting it in taking over a person’s life.

When was the last time that you picked up a meal without pop or soda with it? Never happened right? Well, it turns out that soft drinks are the worst product for our health. They are full of sugar, making it quite high in calories this is why the accessive intake of these drinks cause obesity and diabetes.

Sad to declare your favorite food items bad one by one. But after Soda, your biggest enemy is fried food. And sadly enough, when we say fries we mean all the deep-fried food you used to gorge on. Be it chips, chicken, finger food, etc., these are bad and result in high bad cholesterol.

Yeah, right. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines only should restrict to one drink in the day and men should stop at two. Alcohol is high in calories and devoid of nutritional values so they make a very bad impact on your diet.

As we learned about bacon and hot dogs, there is a piece of equally bad news about the processed meat items. Processed meat, even if it is lower in calories, it is bad for the human body. A carcinogen is found in processed meat which directly links to colorectal cancer. So, this makes processed meat high on risk for leading to cancer.

Now, we know that you cannot eat your nachos or chips without a gallop of sour cream on it. But, as per the dieticians, sour cream has zero nutritional values, it is in fact loaded with calories. Which makes it nothing but a bad food item.

We know, it brought tears to your eyes just to see cookies in this list. But there is a slight relief when it comes to cookies. It is said that eating cookies once in a while will not bring any changes in our body, but if we make it a habit or give to your kids regularly it is a very bad practice.

Since yummy cookies are packed with butter and sugar it is not good for our cholesterol level and blood sugar level.

In this post, we will share some home-made tips or remedies with you to get rid of those nasty stretch marks forever.

1. Cucumber mixed with lemon juice

One of the best-known remedies is made with common ingredients such as cucumber and lemon juice. All you need to do is:

  • Take equal parts of cucumber and lemon juice and mix it well
  • Apply the liquid on the stretched marked and rub with a cotton pad
  • Let it dry for 10 minutes and rinse it with lukewarm water

2. Coconut oil

Coconut oil has natural cooling agents, it produces collagen fibers which helps in reducing marks and scars. You can apply cold pressed pure coconut oil directly to the affected area. Apply at least twice a day and not only you will see the result in reducing the marks but also your skin will be soft and supple.

Black tea is rich in minerals and antioxidants, it also helps in controlling skin pigmentation. Prepare the mixture:

  • Take 1 t-spoon of salt and 2 tablespoons of black tea
  • Boil it for 2 minutes
  • Let it cool and apply twice a day

4. Potato Juice

Potato juice is highly useful for reducing fresh stretch marks it soothes the skin and promotes skin cell regeneration. Grate a raw potato and extract some juice out of it, apply the fresh juice on your skin twice a day.

5. Castor and olive oil

Olive oil is very rich in vitamin E, castor oil is known for healing and speeding the process. Tale 2:1 of olive and castor oil and apply on the skin twice a day. It is advisable to apply it before bedtime.

Rich in amino acid and proteins egg white is very effective in reducing stretch marks. Simply whisk one or two egg whites and apply on clean skin, allow the mask to be dried completely and wash with normal water. Do it twice a week and keep it regular.

1. Supplements are important for losing weight

Nope, that is not true. It is not at all important to take supplements in order to lose weight. All those shakes and tablets are there to make you fall for them. You succumb to the supplements and become conscious of what you eat. This sometimes leads to weight loss but it is certainly not a crucial way to do that. In fact, in most cases, supplements do not work at all.

2. More sweat means more fat is burning

The only that needs to be burnt in order to lose weight is burning calories. Your approach is to burn more calories than you intake. If you go buy this ratio you will definitely lose weight. If you sweat a lot in the gym and then you eat equal calories then no amount of sweat can help you losing weight.

3. Only cardio is the ultimate way to lose weight

Again, No! The cardio workout does help in burning fat but you need to pair it with other exercises also. Weight lifting is very helpful to burn fat when paired with cardio. Your body needs full movement, of all the muscles and not just Cardio.

In order to maintain a healthy metabolism, you need to eat small moderate meals throughout the day. Always remember, you should never overeat or undereat while you are on a diet. Carbs that you need to cut from your diet are refined carbs, such as in the form of refined grain or sugar. In fact, whole food that may be high in carbs is very healthy for your diet. Low carbs diet helps in losing weight but it does not mean that all carbs cause weight gain.

7. All calories are the same

This is entirely incorrect that all calories have similar energy content. Different food has different energy content, such as protein calorie is different than fat calorie.

8. In taking of fat makes you fat

It is certainly not true. Fat alone is not responsible to make you obese. Fat har higher calories compared to carbs or protein. So if taken in moderation it is okay to intake some fat. However, if you intake high fat calories regular diet only, you will surely put on some extra pounds.
