One of the most prestigious events on the distance-running calendar, the London Marathon, will return in 2023.
The event returns to its customary springtime location this year following a pandemic-enforced change in date.
Aiming to finish the 26.2-mile course while navigating some of the city’s most well-known streets, thousands of competitors will do so.

When is the London Marathon?
The London Marathon will occur on Sunday, April 23, this year. It is after three years of being run in October because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
What is the Route for the 2023 London Marathon?
Since the 1981 inaugural edition of the race, the course has mostly remained intact. Beginning south of Greenwich, participants will travel east on a general-level course before turning around and returning to the middle of London via Woolwich Church Street.
Running from there involves weaving through Bermondsey, crossing Tower Bridge, and passing the Cutty Sark by the Thames. Following a right turn, participants will enter the historic Docklands, and pass through Canary Wharf.
And, then, turn around to start the final leg through central London. Further, running down to the Embankment at Blackfriars and turning right at Westminster Bridge will allow you to pass the Thames on your left.
London Marathon 2023 Schedule
On Sunday, April 23, races will start from Greenwich at various intervals. British Summer Time, which is one hour earlier than GMT, is the current time zone in the UK. Furthermore, the following are the times for the various races:
8.30 am BST: Mini London Marathon
8.50 am: Elite wheelchair races
9.00 am: Elite women’s race
9.30 am: Elite men’s race and mass start
The elite wheelchair winners, who will cross the finish line first, will pass Buckingham Palace on Sunday at about 10:30 a.m.
The elite women’s category will finish the race after 12:40 a.m. BST. And, the quickest men will finish the course shortly after 12:03 a.m.
How to Watch the London Marathon 2023?
Through the marathon’s official broadcast TV and live streaming partners, the race will be aired worldwide.
Olympic Channel will live stream the London Marathon in a few countries, including Japan, China, MENA (Afghanistan, Egypt, Algeria, Iran, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestinian Territories, Syria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Tunisia, and Yemen), andNew Zealand.
The race will be live on the BBC One TV channel and BBC iPlayer in the host country. It will also be broadcast on Eurosport and Discover in some regions of Pan-Europe and Asia. The event will air on FloTrack in both Australia and North America.
