The third season of The White Lotus has finally debuted after great anticipation. We are finally arriving in Thailand, where some familiar characters are ready to welcome the new visitors and watchers, following two wildly popular seasons that were set in Hawaii and Sicily. (Yes, Lisa from BLACKPINK is the subject of our conversation.)
Aside from who will die at the conclusion of the season, one of the most fascinating things about The White Lotus is that its cast is constantly changing and always full with celebrities. While season 2 had Theo James, Aubrey Plaza, Haley Lu Richardson, Will Sharpe, Leo Woodall, and many more, season 1 featured Murray Bartlett, Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, and Sydney Sweeney, among many others.
In the history of White Lotus, only Jennifer Coolidge had returned for a second season prior to the release of season 3. However, we were aware from the beginning that Natasha Rothwell would do the same in season three. We also discovered in episode one that she is not the only well-known character to return to strengthen the bonds between the three chapters of the anthology series. (See below for more details.)
Meet the White Lotus season 3 cast and the characters they portray below. With new episodes airing every week, you’ll want to get to know these faces well in order to try to solve another White Lotus mystery, or at the very least, make an educated guess.
Walton Goggins as Rick Hatchett
Rick Hatchett, portrayed by Walton Goggins, who is traveling with Chelsea, his considerably younger lover.
Goggins, who was born in Birmingham, Alabama, began acting in the early 1990s and received his big break in 2002 when he was chosen for the Michael Chiklis-starring role in FX’s The Shield. Later, he was nominated for two Emmys for his performances in Fallout (2024) and Justified (2011).
Aimee Lou Wood as Chelsea
BAFTA winner and former Sex Education cast member Aimee Lou Wood portrays Rick’s younger “free-spirited” lover, Chelsea. In the trailer, she plays a humorous character who exclaims, “The woman in the airport thought you were my dad.” Although she was initially meant to be American, Chelsea is from Manchester, and we know that she is resourceful because she “nearly died” and managed to get the couple’s accommodation reimbursed.
Because the teaser depicts her hanging out with a number of personalities, we can also infer that she enjoys mingling. Where has Rick been during all of this?
Michelle Monaghan as Jaclyn
Hollywood actress Jaclyn, played by Michelle Monaghan, is traveling with her lifelong friends Kate and Laurie.
Monaghan, who was born in Iowa, gained notoriety in Hollywood after landing a major part in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005). She is most recognized for co-starring with Tom Cruise in three Mission Impossible movies and for being nominated for a Golden Globe for season one of HBO’s popular series True Detective.
Leslie Bibb as Kate
Kate, played by Leslie Bibb, is traveling to Thailand with her lifelong friends Laurie and Jaclyn.
Born in North Dakota, Bibb began performing in the late 1990s. After landing her first significant part on season two of The Big Easy, she went on to star in Ryan Murphy’s Popular on The WB. She most recently starred in the movie Juror #2 and the Apple TV+ series The Palm Royale.
Carrie Coon as Laurie
Laurie, played by Carrie Coon, is traveling with her lifelong friends Kate and Jaclyn. Although she is thrilled to meet Kate and appreciates Jaclyn for covering the cost of their stay at the White Lotus, she finds it challenging to keep up with their discussions about plastic surgery, Hollywood, and socialite life due to her regular corporate job. The fact that Kate and Jaclyn are constantly complimenting one another before having to remind themselves that Laurie is around doesn’t help either.
Jason Isaacs as Timothy Ratliff
Jason Isaacs plays Timothy Ratliff, a wealthy businessman finds the resort’s emphasis on unplugging difficult.. All he wants to do is use his phone and go to the gym. He comes across as a kind man who adores his family, but when he begins receiving calls from snoopy journalists, things start to get suspicious.
Parker Posey as Victoria Ratliff
Victoria Ratliff, portrayed by Parker Posey, is enjoying a vacation with her husband Timothy and their three kids.
Victoria is a Xanax-taking mother with a Southern accent. She laughs at all of Saxon’s off-color jokes and is skeptical of her daughter Piper’s fascination with Buddhism and her thesis. She tells Timothy that he is “such a wonderful man” and shares her affection for her family.
Patrick Schwarzenegger as Saxson Ratliff
Patrick Schwarzenegger plays Saxton Ratliff, oldest child of Timothy and Victoria, who also graduated from Duke University like his father before working for his dad. Saxton has some very set views on life when it comes to getting what you want.
