Why is this community so hidden and living in fear?
It gets my gears turning when I see words like hidden and living in fear. Coming out as a queer person really isn’t that difficult. There are some drawbacks for sure, but all-in-all there’s nothing to be afraid of. Queer people have been around since the beginning of time. We are in every culture, race, and religion. So, why are we still hidden and living in fear?
I think a big part of it has to do with the way our society is structured. The heteronormative structure of our society dictates that there is only one way to be and that’s heterosexual. Anything else is seen as wrong, deviant, or abnormal. This isn’t just limited to the LGBTQA+ community either.
Marginalized groups such as people of color, people with disabilities, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds experience this type of discrimination as well.

With that in mind, it’s important for psychics to be aware of the unique challenges that members of the LGBTQA+ community face. So, what can you do to be more supportive of your LGBTQA+ clients? First and foremost, listen. Be prepared to learn about their experiences and the challenges they face. Don’t just assume that you know everything. It’s also important to be respectful and nonjudgmental.
The most important thing is that you create a safe and supportive space for your clients. They need to feel comfortable coming to you with their concerns and doubts.
However, you can’t do it all by yourself. The LGBTQA+ community also needs the support of allies. Allies are people who are not a part of the LGBTQA+ community, but support the rights and equality of all people.
