The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2019 is a national level entrance examination which is conducted for engineering aspirants for admission to top engineering institutes such as IITs, CFTIs, NITs etc. From this year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct JEE Main twice a year i.e. there will be two sessions of JEE Main 2019, one in January and second in April.
JEE Main 2019 will be conducted from January 06, 2019 to January 20, 2019, across India. As per NTA officials, it’s expected that around 9.5 Lakh candidates will appear for JEE Main 2019. In case, candidates are unable to appear for the January session, they are provided with an opportunity to appear in the April session.
Higher score out of the two exams will be considered at the time of admission. The rank obtained in JEE Main is also used for admission to numerous state level institutes in Odessa, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, and Uttarakhand.
NTA has set up around 3400 test practice centres across India with a motive to assist students in the preparation of JEE Main 2019. As per reports, this year the number of female applicants is just around 2.8 lakhs i.e. approx. 29% whereas the applications from the male candidates are 6.85 lakhs. Also, 38 transgenders have also applied for JEE Main 2019 January session.

On comparing to the previous year’s registrations, it can be seen that the number of applications has been decreased by almost 2.5 lakhs this year.
Admission Criteria for JEE Main
The maximum number of attempts to appear for JEE Main is limited to just three. Admission to the engineering courses offered in NITs, IITs, CFTIs, institutes funded by the participating State Governments and other institutes is granted based on candidates performance in Class 12 or equivalent examination and also on performance in the JEE Main.

The admit card of JEE Main 2019 is available on the official website of NTA. Candidates who have applied for this examination will be able to download the same from the examination authority’s official website.
Steps to Download JEE Main Admit Card
Candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps in order to download the admit card of JEE Main 2019:
- Visit the official website of NTA
- Log in using your user id and password
- On clicking, the JEE Main 2019 admit card will appear on the screen.
- Download and take a print out of the same and keep it safe for further admission procedure.

JEE Main syllabus:
As per NTA, JEE Main 2019 syllabus will be the same as that of previous year’s. To know about the exam pattern, candidates are advised to practice previous year papers and appear for mock tests.
Examination to use highly secured IT software for JEE Main 2019
NTA will use highly secured IT software and encryption in order to ensure the delivery of question papers in time. The use of this software will ensure no cases of leakage in the examination.
Scheme of JEE 2019
Paper I: This examination will be held in both online as well as in online mode.
Paper II: This will be conducted only in the pen paper based mode.
Medium of examination
JEE Main will be conducted in Hindi and English mediums in all States except in Gujarat, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli where the examination will be conducted in the Gujarati language.
