He holds numerous seminars annually, most of which focus on self-help and positive thinking. However, Robbins’ seminars are usually incomplete without his trademark fire walk as well as massages and physical exercise. 

Early Life and Bio

Robbins was born in North Hollywood, California, on February 29th, 1960. Robbin’s life was far from normal. His mother divorced his father at the age of 7, and when he was in high school. So, Robbins grew 10 inches due to a pituitary tumour. He never had a stable household as he faced a lot of abuse growing up from his mother.

However, Robbins recalls times when his mother would chase him out of the house with a knife and pour liquid soap down his throat. By the age of 17, he decided to leave home and never return. He never attended college and got a job as a janitor to make money.

One day, when speaking with his landlord, Tony was asking him how he got so successful. Also, the landlord replied that he went to a Jim Rohn seminar (Rohn was a famous motivational speaker at the time).

Robbins had no clue what a seminar was, so he asked his landlord to explain. The landlord said that a seminar is when a man takes everything he’s learned over the years of his life and he condenses his knowledge into four hours.

Robbins was fascinated by the idea of a seminar; however, to attend a Jim Rohn seminar costs $35. At the time, Robbins was only making $40 a week! However, he decided to spend a week’s pay to attend the seminar. Although it was a costly investment for him, it would change his life.

Career

Tony Robbins began working as a promoter for seminars for Jim Rohn when he was 17 years old, and this launched his career path. A few years later, in the early 1980s, he met John Grinder and they became partners in the business.

Grinder and Robbins both taught Neurolinguistics Programming, and Robbins also taught Ericksonian Hypnosis. In 1988 Robbins released his first infomercial to sell his Personal Power self-help audiotapes. This infomercial was read by around 100 million Americans by 1991.

His live seminars began in 1997 with the Leadership Academy seminar and are currently on the seminar circuit sponsored by the Learning Annex. Currently, over 4 million people have attended his live seminars. Other endeavours that Robbins has undertaken include the Robbins-Madanes Center for Intervention, which trains life skills coaches to help families and individuals deal with addiction and other issues.

He is also involved with the Major League Soccer franchise in Los Angeles and has recently purchased Team Liquid, which is an eSports pro gaming organisation. Robbins is also a published author, with five books to his name. Four of his books are best-sellers. His latest book was released in 2017 and is co-authored with Peter Mallouk.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Tony revealed that his annual income in 1984 was $40,000. He reportedly made over $1 million in 1985 and has not made less than $1 million per year ever since, with recent years exponentially higher. By 2005, Tony was personally earning north of $30 million per year in profits from his empire. However, he reportedly earns more than $10 million today from his program “Unleash the Power Within ” alone. Real Estate

Tony Robbins purchased a 2-acre property in Lantana, Florida, in 2013 for $24.75 million and proceeded to spend $10 million upgrading the roughly 16,000-square-foot house. Also, he had previously been based in La Jolla, California. In 2004, he paid $875,000 for a home in La Quinta, California. He sold that property in 2017 for $3.25 million.

Therefore, Tony owns a 525-acre luxury, all-inclusive resort called Namale in Fiji. He bought the property in 1989, at the age of 29, for $12.5 million. Also, the resort today is worth north of $50 million. In 2012, Oprah listed the resort as one of her “Favourite Things.”

However, in October 2020, it was revealed that a company tied to Tony Robbins bought a West Palm Beach warehouse to use as a production studio. However, PB Studios LLC, tied to Anthony Robbins Companies, paid $4.4 million for the 28,000-square-foot building on Electronics Way.

Personal Life

Tony was married to Becky Robbins from 1984 to 1997. The couple had no children together but Tony acted as a father to Becky’s three children from a previous marriage. However, the year Becky and Tony married, Tony found out that he had fathered a child with a woman named Liz Acosta.

Their son is named Jairek Robbins. Jairek is also a personal trainer and empowerment coach. However, Tony has been married to Bonnie “Sage” Robbins” since October 2001. They married at his resort in Fiji and live in Manalapan, Florida.
