Ghanaian musician and social media influencer, Mona Faiz Montrage. We know her as Hajia4Real. However, Court repatriated her from the United Kingdom to the United States on allegations of swindling over $2 million. Therefore, Hajia4real is facing allegations of duping older people. Also, single American men and women in a disturbing lonely hearts scam, federal prosecutors announced on Monday, May 15, 2023.
According to the New York Post, ‘The Badder Than’ singer appeared in Manhattan federal court on Monday. During the court proceedings, she entered a plea of not guilty. However, Police confirmed that she will be released in the upcoming days upon posting a $500,000 bond. As part of her release conditions, she will need to wear an ankle monitor with GPS tracking.
According to federal authorities, Montragho gained significant recognition through her widely popular Instagram page. Also, Hajia4Reall has a peak following of approximately 3.4 million users. She involved herself in a network of fraudsters hailing from Ghana and Nigeria.
These individuals employed deceptive tactics. Also, they are assuming false identities and creating an illusion of romantic relationships with their victims through emails, text messages, and social media communications.

Montrage had around 3.4 million Instagram followers on her page Hajia4Real at one point. So, from at least 2013 through 2019 was involved with a group of con artists from West Africa.
Who assumed fake identities to trick people into thinking they were in relationships with them using emails, texts, and social media messages. However, the scammers would then get the victims to transfer money to them under false pretences. Such as to help move gold to the US from overseas, to resolve bogus FBI investigations.
Also, payments to help fake US Army officers in Afghanistan, court papers allege. Montrage, in one case, allegedly duped a victim into sending her $89,000 through 82 wire transfers. So, on the pretext of helping her father’s farm in Ghana, the court documents claim.
What Charges Hajia4Real face?
United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Michael J. Driscoll. De Assistant Director in Charge of the New York Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigations announced a six-count Indictment charge against Hajia4Real. Therefore, Hajia4Reall faces charges including one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
One count of wire fraud, one count of money laundering conspiracy and one count of money laundering. Each of which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. The judge who handles the case determines the maximum potential sentencing.
Evidence US Officials Gather Against Hajia4Real
Hajia4Reall allegedly receives money from several victims of romance frauds who are members of de Enterprise who trick them into sending money. Among her pretensions, she used to induce victims to send money to Montage by saying she made payments to transport gold to the United States from overseas.
The payments to resolve some FBI unemployment investigations. Also, payments to assist fake United States army officers to receive funds from Afghanistan. According to court records, Hajia4Real used her real name with one victim.
She spoke to the victim several times by phone. She sends the victim a tribal marriage certificate which says she and the victim marry in Ghana. The victim sent Hajia4Real approximately 82 wire transfers totalling approximately $89,000 to help with costs associated with Hajia4Real en father farm for Ghana.
