Some social media users pointed out the seriousness of the situation, with one person mentioning the death toll of 30,000 and the suffering from disease, malnutrition, and flooding in tents. Bialik, anticipating criticism, disabled the reply function on her post.
Journalist David Ehrlich described the post as “some of the most demented s***” he has seen on any website. Actor David Krumholtz expressed his dismay, highlighting the daily deaths of children, people being held hostage, and escalating trauma and hate on both sides.
