Available Grants For Micro Business and Women-Owned Business in The US

The Pandemic era has been a nightmare for us. In fact, it has affected every sphere of human existence. However, the business sector has been the worst sufferer. Due to the closure of markets, the sales went down rapidly. Moreover, the whole world stayed indoors during the pandemic. Therefore, this resulted in great economic loss in business. Keep reading to know more about Micro Business.

However, within the business sector, the worst hits are micro business and the women-owned business. In fact, these two sections suffered greatly. Thus, in the U.S. business grants have become the need of the hour. In fact, business grants can handle some of the challenges effectively. Here are a few grant opportunities that can be availed across the U.S.

1. Coos Economic Development Corporation Pilot Program

Coos Economic Development Corporation is launching a new pilot program. In fact, the New Hampshire-based organisation is looking for businesses that might be interested in a storefront location. Therefore, the pilot program aims to help small business grow, by helping them to get a retail location.

Primarily the program will be working in five locations: Colebrook, Gorham, Lancaster, Berlin and Whitefield. The eligible businesses will be receiving up to $5,000. Therefore, the micro business owners may use the fund to pay for rent, insurance and other storefront expenses. 

2. Dulles Minority Micro Business Owner Grant Program

The Virginia-based Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce recently started a Minority Small Business Owner Grant Program. However, not all are eligible for this grant. Only the small minority and women-owned business working with less than 10 employees in Fairfax and Loudoun counties can appeal. Moreover, in order to be eligible, those businesses must have faced financial hardships during the pandemic.

However, the Virginia-bassed organisation is not alone in this program. It has joined hands with  America’s Charities for managing the program. In fact, they are also receiving tax-free donations for the program. Therefore, it seems to be a perfect opportunity for micro businesses. However, the applicants can send applications till the 8th of July. So, hurry up!

3. Marin Microbusiness COVID-19 Relief Grant Program

Marin is operating in California. Its COVID-19 relief grant program for micro businesses is supporting the small business of the county. In fact, the county has joined hands with the Dominican University of California and Marin Small Business Development Center to carry on the program. The program will be funding $2,500 to each of the  105 eligible applicants.

The eligibility scale for this grant demands that a business must have grossed less than $50,000 in 2019. Moreover, an eligible business for this grant must have suffered a loss of 10 percent or more during the pandemic and has less than 5 employees at work. However, there is yet another criteria. The eligible businesses must not have received any other grants. Therefore, eligible businesses may apply till the 30th of June. 

4. Micro Business: Providence American Rescue Plan Act Grants

The capital city of Rhodes Island is offering yet another grant. Providence is offering a total of $7 million as grants to local small businesses. The American Rescue Plan Act is funding this program. In fact, they launched the program initially in October 2021. However, 90% of the total fund is yet remaining. In fact, the deadline is not very far.

Therefore, the City Council and Mayor have decided to relax the criteria for eligibility. As a result, there are no minimum eligibility criteria for the fund. The opportunity closes after the 1st of July. 

5. Wells Fargo Foundation and LISC Disaster Recovery Program

Wells Fargo Foundation and the Local initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) have launched a joint pilot program. The program aims at supporting small businesses as well as Women-Owned Business. The Wells Fargo Foundation is providing a $2 million grant to LISC to provide community-based disaster training and planning services to businesses in disaster-prone communities. With this aim in view, the LISC is supporting 22 nonprofit business development organizations in New Jersey, Alabama, New York, Louisiana, and Texas.

6. Schuyler County Downtown & Business Improvement Program

The  Schuyler County Downtown & Business Improvement ARPA Program recently completed providing its first round of funds to the micro businesses. Again it has announced its second cycle. This program has  $172,300 as funds to provide. The deadline is set for 31 July.
