Pokemon Go is one of the most popular Pokemon games in recent times. In fact, since its arrival, the game has recorded high demand and a large user base. In this game, you can catch pokemon as you walk around your surrounding. You can also battle other users in the pokemon gyms. What makes it more interesting is that the game uses real-time GPS data. Therefore, it adds a touch of realism to the virtual gaming experience.
Any viewer of the Pokemon animation series knows we need to throw Pokeballs to catch a Pokemon. However, if a Pokemon breaks out of the ball and runs away, that can be really frustrating. In fact, compared to other Pokemon games, this phenomenon happens more in Pokemon Go. Even the most common ones like Pidove and others might run away if your luck permits that.
In addition, Niantic has made catching Pokemons impossible if someone travels too fast. However, this at times happens with players, who are merely walking. This is exactly what happened to a player recently, due to a GPS glitch. Read the article to know more about this unfortunate player.
The Unlucky Player
Formanz, a Reddit user recently posted a series of screenshots on r/pokemongo. The screenshots, 11 in number show that within a span of 10 minutes, the user recorded 11 failed attempts to catch pokemon. In the comment section, many users stated that he might have been moving faster than usual. But Formanz cancelled those claims. The user stated that he was walking his/her way to cast a vote in the Czech regional elections. Formanz also stated that the distance was about 500 to 600 meters and added that he/she is not that irresponsible to play games while driving.
Therefore, this is something that is not normal. Seeing the claims by the user, some other users came up with another possible reason. They stated that Formanz might have fallen prey to a glitch in Pokemon Go. This GPS glitch misinterpreted the pace of the user’s movement. Thereby, the player gets “soft banned”. This very fact makes catching a Pokemon impossible for the player.
Those players to arrive at a destination by car suffers from this ban. This is due to the fact that the game takes some time to regulate. Though Formanz claimed that there was no scope for travelling on a car or bus, it might be that the game might have remained open during any instance of fast movement. As a result, the glitch might have occurred.
Concluding Lines
Glitches in games are the things we least expect. In fact, in a game like Pokemon Go, which depends on GPS signals, glitches can be very annoying. This has been the case with Formanz. Therefore, the developers should take note of this incident. In fact, a similar thing might have happened to other players as well. Therefore, this needs to be solved to provide a seamless gaming experience.
