The expectation among gamers had been mounting for the past three years for the much-anticipated publication of the E3 schedule for 2022. In fact, E3, or the Electronic Entertainment Expo, is a grand trade event for the video game industry. It is organized and presented by the Entertainment Software Association. Sony State of Play
This is the first major conference for 2022. This 30-minute show from Sony occurred on 2nd June, 6:00 p.m. ET onwards. God of War Ragnarök is the next big Playstation exclusive. However, at present, it does not have a release day at present. Square Enix’s PS5-exclusive Final Fantasy XVI also lacks a particular release date. However, during the conference, Enix revealed the gameplay. In fact, they also revealed a release window for the game. Sony has a number of games under development, including two Marvel games. However, they did not tease any new release.
Devolver Digital’s Fest

In the absence of the E3 conference, the Summer Game Fest is the next grand event in line. This grand digital showcase is linked to Geoff Keighley, the hype man of the games industry. Keighley takes the stage during the event, telling about “world premieres” and “world exclusives.” This year’s event has become really a grand one with a series of grand announcements. It took place on 9th June, 2:00 p.m. ET onwards. The greatest announcement has been regarding Warhammer 40K RPG. The game is soon to arrive. Guerilla Collective
This indie game-focused showcase occurred on 11th June, 11:00 a.m. ET onwards. This showcase is in its third year, and this year it announced a number of indie games like From Space, I Was A Teenage Exocolonist, Ugly, Gravewood High, and much more.
Future Games Show
This hour-long showcase by GamesRadar+ stated in its announcement that it would cover 40 games this time. In addition, they stated that these games will be from mid-sized publishers like Thunderful, Team17, etc. In fact, they have been true to their claim. The showcase occurred on 11th June, 12:30 p.m. ET onwards.
Wholesome Direct
This showcase also occurred on 11th June but from 12:30 p.m. ET. Wholesome Direct generally showcases lighter games from independent developers. They generally avoid big-budget games. In fact, the games showcased last year had been big hits. This year’s showcase featured around 100 trailers and announcements. In fact, all these games will be available on Switch.
Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase
We know that Bethesda has now become one of the first-party studios under Xbox. In fact, the two grand releases by Microsoft from Bethesda, Starfield, and Redfall have been postponed to 2023. At the conference, there obviously was an announcement about Redfall, which is said to be released in 2023. Capcom Showcase
This event was hosted by Capcom on 13th June, 6:00 p.m. onwards. It was streamed on the YouTube and Twitch channels of the organizer. Earlier in June, Capcom revealed the long-awaited remake of Resident Evil 4. In the event, this was the prime concern.
Overwatch Showcase
This event was hosted by Blizzard on the 16th of June. It mainly was concerned with their sequel to Overwatch. Therefore, it covered the details of Overwatch 2.
THQ Nordic Showcase
THQ Nordic is a subsidiary of Embracer Group. In fact, this group has become a big name over the past few years. However, the Embracer Group has not come out with its own showcase event. Ubisoft will be hosting its grand showcase event from September 3 p.m. onwards. The organizers informed via a Livestream that during this event they will be talking about Assassins Creed in the event. Therefore gamers, be ready.
