Having made its debut in 2000 as one of Adult Swim’s initial original series, Aqua Teen Hunger Force is poised for its eagerly anticipated comeback. Following the Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm film, the show’s 12th season revival was scheduled to premiere on November 26 at 11:30 p.m. EDT.
New Jersey is now plagued by monsters shaped like ears. Frylock reported that all major American cities were in flames. To avoid attracting the creatures, survivors are compelled to communicate using sign language instead of speaking. However, Master Shake remains sceptical.
Not only does he reject the idea of staying silent, but he also goes a step further by setting up rows of speakers throughout the house to amplify his Kiss cover band. Indeed, the beloved anthropomorphic fast-food characters and their human neighbour have made a comeback. Play the Schoolly D theme song as “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” is back in full swing.
NJ Advance Media delved into these mysteries and more with Willis and Maiellaro, co-writers and directors who also lend their voices to characters in the show. Willis brings to life the amiable Meatwad, the consistently disgruntled Carl Brutananadilewski, and the condescending Ignignokt of the villainous Mooninites duo, among other characters. Maiellaro lends his voice to Err, the other half of the Mooninites, and the vampiric Markula, who serves as the Aqua Teens’ landlord.
In the upcoming five-episode “mini” season, Carey Means reprises his role, bringing order to the chaos as the intelligent and dependable Frylock, while Dana Snyder returns as the consistently wayward Master Shake. One episode is themed around “A Quiet Place,” featuring ear monster-aliens. In another instalment, Shake takes charge of a virtual reality fantasy world as his physical condition declines in New Jersey.
At a certain juncture, Meatwad, renowned for his shapeshifting abilities, transforms into Wesley Snipes in “Blade.” For “Aqua Teen” fans, everything is going smoothly, particularly considering the previous concern that the show had been permanently axed. Adult Swim had cancelled the series in 2015, declaring the 11th season as the final one… at least at that time.
