Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has once again joined forces with international law enforcement, this time assisting Dutch authorities in dismantling a multi-million dollar online fraud scheme. The investigation, sparked by concerns raised about a platform called ZKasino, resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old suspect and the seizure of over €11.4 million (approximately $12.7 million) in assets.
ZKasino, suspected to be an elaborate “exit scam,” lured investors with promises of high returns within a short period. The platform allegedly attracted over $30 million globally before disappearing, leaving victims with significant financial losses.
“Binance is proud to have supported Dutch authorities in investigating a gambling exit scam,” the company stated. “Our Investigations team helped lead the recovery of millions of euros.”

Collaboration is key to Exposing the Scheme
The operation’s success hinged on collaboration between Binance’s Investigations team and the Dutch Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD). By combining resources and expertise, they were able to track and secure millions of euros held in cryptocurrency.
While authorities remain optimistic about reclaiming some of the lost funds, they acknowledge the challenges involved. The FIOD emphasized the importance of cooperation from victims and anyone with information about the scam. They urged victims to come forward and work with authorities to increase the chances of recovering their investments.
Binance’s Ongoing Fight Against Crypto Crime
This takedown marks another victory for Binance in its ongoing fight against cryptocurrency crime. In 2023, the company collaborated with Thai law enforcement to dismantle a notorious “pig butchering” scam that victimized thousands of people in Thailand. The operation resulted in the arrest of key members of the criminal group and the seizure of nearly $277 million in assets.
Binance’s proactive approach in assisting international investigations demonstrates the crypto industry’s growing commitment to combating online fraud. As digital currencies continue to gain mainstream adoption, collaboration between law enforcement agencies and cryptocurrency exchanges will be crucial in safeguarding investors and promoting a safe and secure digital financial ecosystem.
