In its competition game mode, Valorant limits four-play groups by using a predefined size cap. According to the creators, “it tends to leave the last solo queue player on a squad with an unfavorable experience.”
Gamers can queue in full five-person teams, but the squad will only gain 25% fewer skill points for victories and up to 90% less depending on player ranks. Although full teams are only matched with other groups of five, it also takes longer to locate a match for them.

Treyarch issued a backstory update two days after aBeZy issued a call to action. When individual players are opposed against parties in games, the upgrade “improves the efficiency of matches,” according to the creators.
According to Treyarch, the development team will keep making changes to ensure “that both individual and group play are fairly viable.” Fans need to be made aware of the precise changes to matchmaking because they are a background update.
