DeSean Jackson, the dynamic wide receiver who left an indelible mark on the football field during two tenures in Philadelphia, will officially retire as an Eagle on Friday. Following his retirement announcement, he will be honoured as an honorary captain before the Eagles’ game at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.
Selected in the second round of the 2008 draft, Jackson dedicated eight of his impressive 15 seasons to Philadelphia, earning Pro Bowl recognition in 2009, 2010, and 2013. The Eagles highlighted that, across 95 career games with the team, Jackson holds impressive rankings: third all-time in receiving yards (6,512), sixth in receptions (379), and ninth in receiving touchdowns (35).
In his role as a punt returner, he secured the second position in punt returns (132), ranked third in punt return yards (1,296), and stands as the team’s all-time leader in punt return touchdowns, sharing the record with Darren Sproles at four.
