No complicated math! Although, you just need basic multiplication skills. So, let’s start with some easy examples!

1. Rashid has 2 ml of water. The density of water is 1

Ml x Density = Grams

2 x 1 = 2 grams of water.

2. Meena has 1 ml of butter. The density of butter is 865

Ml x Density = Grams

1 x 865 = 865 g

3. Sona bought 9 ml of milk. The density of milk is 1.03

Ml x Density = Grams

9 x 1.03 = 9.27 g

4. Reena is making a cake. The flour she bought is 7 ml. The density of the flour is 0.529

Ml x Density = Grams

7 x 0.529 = 3.703 g

5. The cooking oil in Rohit’s kitchen is 11 ml. The density of that cooking oil is 0.88

Ml x Density = Grams

11 x 0.88 = 9.68 g

6. Priya has got honey which is 2 ml. The density of that honey is 0.7

Ml x Density = Grams

2 x 0.7 = 1.4 g

7. Suhana has 2 ml of coffee. The density of it is 0.365

Ml x Density = Grams

2 x 0.365 = 0.73 g.

8. There is 5 ml of granulated sugar in the sack. The density of this sugar is approximately 0.84536

Ml x Density = Grams

5 x 0.84536 = 4.2268 g

That’s it! That’s how you convert ml to grams. Just know the ml and density of the material and you can easily convert it into grams.

Some cooking ingredients from ml to grams you should note

  • 1 ml of water is always 1.4 g.
  • 1 ml of butter is always 0.911 g.
  • 1 ml of milk is always 1.03 g.
  • 1 ml of flour is always 0.57 g.
  • 1 ml of cooking oil is always 0.88 g.
  • 1 ml of normal sugar is always 0.845351 g.
  • 1 ml of coffee is always 0.54 g.

Know the Key concepts

What is Gram?

Gram is simply the unit of mass. In fact, the large quantity of matter is known as mass. We generally use the word g as an abbreviation for gram. In fact, it can be measured by a digital kitchen scale.  A digital kitchen scale shows us the weight of any object. However, you can also measure it by a coffee cup or a measuring spoon.

Besides, gram is mostly measured for cooking ingredients which are generally dry.

In fact, you can also use charts to know the gram of any substance or ingredient you are using.

What is Milliliters?

Milliliters apply only to types of liquids and gas. Besides, all the liquids and gas occupy a certain amount of volume when kept in a container. In fact, Milliter is the unit of this volume. Other than that, this milliliter equates to a thousand liters. Mathematically, we use the abbreviation ml for milliliters. These are the basic things you must know to understand how to convert ml.

What is Density?

The density is the compactness of the object. How tightly the matter is intertwined with one another. Therefore, It is mass per volume of the substance.

The easy way to calculate density is –

Density = Mass/VolumeHowever, always know the density of any material or substance or ingredient you wish to convert into grams. Besides, you can’t convert ml to grams without knowing the density of the concerning ingredient.

Always know the substance you want to convert

In fact, it is important to know any substance properly if you want to convert from ml to grams. And, that is because every substance has different properties and you must know them. Besides, you would need diverse variations or figures to convert it from ml to grams.

For example, if you want to convert 2 ml of rice flour into grams. You must know the density of the rice flour. Besides, you should also know that 1 ml of rice is equal to 0.68 g. Know these figures.

So, now if you calculate—Ml of rice flour is 2. The density of rice flour is 1.36. So, how to convert it into grams?

2 ml x 1.36 density = 2.72 g

Understand the Density

The density is the compactness of the object. How finely the matter is stuffed in an object. However, try to understand density in everyday situations. Pick up an object. Is it heavy or is it light? That is density! Density is just the amount of mass per unit volume.

How to convert kitchen ingredients from ml to grams

1. To convert to Flour

  • You have to multiply by 0.57 to convert it into grams.
  • There are many types of flour in the market. However, all have the same kind of destiny.
  • 1 ml  = 0.57 grams

2. To convert to Milk

  • Multiply its ml by 1.03.
  • You can use this measurement for full-fat milk.
  • Skim milk can get closer to 1.035. However, that does not add any major difference.
  • 1 ml  = 1.03 grams

3. To convert for Butter

  • Multiply by 0.911.
  • You can also multiply by 0.9. It won’t make much difference in the process of converting ml to grams.
  • 1 ml = 0.911

4. To convert for Water

  • One milliliter of water is one gram.
  • It weighs the same in most of situations whether in cooking or the chemistry labs.
  • There is no need to do any multiplication or hard math to convert water.
  • Use a different conversion method in case of hotter or colder water.

Conclusion

Ta-da! You have learned how to convert ml to grams! Hope the article helped you enough.

Use the knowledge above to understand the concepts more properly. Besides, make the process smooth and less complicated! However, keep charts around you to measure milliliters and grams. Also, a digital kitchen scale is also a good piece of equipment to measure the ingredients.

Other than that, you may find it difficult to remember the figures. So, to avoid that, make your own charts of conversion from ml to grams. Therefore, you won’t need to calculate the figures again and again whenever you are cooking or measuring stuff for other purposes.Understand the key concepts of density, milliliter, and grams properly before calculating. Besides, this will help you to know the material you want to convert.
