Alicia Allain, a prominent producer and actress, initially entered the industry as a hairstylist. You might know that her love story with John Schneider gained the audience’s attention. Sadly enough, she passed away at the age of 53. Her husband took to his social media account to confirm the sad news.
He was there throughout her illness. However, you might be shocked to learn he was not by her side in her final moments. He believes she might have chosen that time for her death, as she knew he couldn’t handle witnessing it. Nevertheless, he ensured that Allain knew his deep feelings for her before her passing. In his first interview since the passing of the ‘Dukes of Hazzard’, the actor continues to mourn. He shares that he aspires for their story to motivate others to express their emotions openly.
John Schneider and His Wife’s Love Story
The love story between Schneider and Alicia, a producer and owner of Maven Entertainment, commenced on October 6, 2014, during a lunch meeting to discuss a film project. This meeting almost didn’t happen.
Schneider, renowned for his portrayal of Bo Duke on The Dukes of Hazzard for seven seasons, as well as his roles in Smallville and Tyler Perry’s The Haves and Have Nots, along with his contributions to country music, encountered difficulties in locating the restaurant and was on the verge of cancelling due to frustration.
However, Alicia insisted that he persevere with the appointment. Despite the initial hiccup, the two immediately connected, engaging in lively banter—largely revolving around which role Schneider should play in the film. At the time, the actor was separated from his ex-wife, Elvira “Elly” Castle, and he was captivated by Alicia’s quick wit and can-do attitude.
The Sad Phase Between Them
Their world turned upside down in May 2019 when Alicia received a breast cancer diagnosis after a routine dermatologist appointment revealed a lesion. As Alicia underwent treatment, the couple decided to formalize their union “in the eyes of God,” as Schneider’s divorce from Castle had not been finalized at the time.
In 2020, Alicia’s cancer had entered remission, and Schneider reported that she was “doing great.” However, in December 2021, her health took a sudden downturn when she was in a race car accident, resulting in a broken back. Subsequent scans revealed that her cancer had resurfaced and spread to the bones.
The Tragic End
By February 2023, Alicia’s health had deteriorated, prompting Schneider to honour her wishes by bringing her home from the hospital for hospice care. Over the following six days, their loved ones stood by her side. She passed away on 21 February 2023.

The Grief Continues
The actor and country singer shared a picture on Instagram of his departed partner, affectionately referred to as “My Smile,” offering a radiant smile and a thumbs-up. Allain, a filmmaker and music producer, passed away at her residence with her family by her side as she took her final breath, as stated in an obituary from the Wilbert Funeral Home. Schneider wrote on Instagram that his beautiful Smile is now pain-free, living in her new body alongside Jesus.
He requested privacy during the grieving period and was urged not to ask any questions. He also mentioned that if pictures showcase their evident love and adoration, please post them below. Lastly, he advised everyone to embrace their loved ones tightly and express their feelings, as they always did.
