Jamie Foxx faces allegations of sexual assault at a New York City restaurant in 2015, according to a lawsuit filed by Jane Doe. The Oscar-winning actor is accused of offensive touching without consent and using force. The court documents are pending review and approval by the County Clerk. TMZ was the first to report on this development. Assault and battery are very serious offenses in almost all parts of the United States.
According to the lawsuit, Jamie Foxx allegedly made inappropriate comments to the woman, then grabbed her arm and took her to a secluded area, where he touched her breasts and intimate areas without consent. The woman tried to step away, but Foxx continued his actions.
The court documents are pending review and approval by the County Clerk. TMZ initially reported on these allegations. There is a more graphic description where the plaintiff maintained that Foxx had slid his hands inside her pants as well. This is indeed horrifying and disturbing. She tried to evade him. But she was not successful. And he had his way.
The lawsuit claims that during the alleged incident, a friend of Jane Doe intervened, ending it. The suit also states that security guards and employees did not step in. The plaintiff is reported to still suffer from physical and emotional injuries, anxiety, distress, embarrassment, and economic harm.
The filing has requested a jury trial. The lawsuit is among several filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which allows a one-year window to file sexual abuse claims that the statute of limitations would otherwise bar. The deadline for such claims is Thursday. Jamie Foxx had no comment to make. He is not pleased with the developments.
