Jordan Belfort was born on July 9, 1962, in the Bronx borough of New York City. His parents Ron and Leah Belfort were accountants. Jordan attended American University before transferring to and graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in biology.
However, in 1987, he landed his first job on Wall Street when he was offered a position. As an entry-level stockbroker at L.F. Belfort grew up in an apartment in Queens. where he already started his career as a salesman by selling seafood and meat. He decided to put his selling skills into a different line of work. So, he became a stockbroker in 1987. Belfort started his firm, Stratton Oakmont in the 1990s. He became infamous for his role in tricking millions of dollars from investors.
