Katy Perry got temporarily replaced on American Idol amid drama and she temporarily left American Idol, along with Lionel Richie. American singing competition shows American Idol said goodbye to long-time judge Katy Perry for the next few months. She has been on the show since its 16th season in 2018.

Perry performed across the pond at King Charles’ coronation. That took place on Saturday, May 6. Lionel Richie, her fellow judge on American Idol, will also be performing.

Perry is an ambassador of the British Asian Trust. A charity founded by King Charles back in 2020. Also, Richie was the first-ever global ambassador of another one of Charles III’s charities, the Prince’s Trust.

“I am excited to be performing at the Coronation Concert. It also helped to shine a further light on the British Asian Trust’s Children’s Protection Fund. Whose work includes on-ground initiatives to fundraising, to find solutions to child trafficking,” Perry said in support of the charity.
