Warzone 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 both use a little-known audio setting for PC players, but the information is now public. After the initial day of the CDL Major II, SlasheR stood out among other COD pros for having some insight into loudness equalization in Modern Warfare 2.
When asked if he used the broken setting for volume equalization, SlasheR responded that he would if other players were. Though it won’t even be allowed at the Major II in Boston for the LAN event and is likely to be GA’d, that doesn’t mean the typical player can’t utilize it themselves.

Is Enabled Loudness Equalisation Allowed In MW2?
Why is Loudness Equalization allowed if it is so beneficial? So, Loudness Equalization cannot be detected or identified in MW2, unlike cheats and hacks. There is little that can be done to stop its use, at least in online play, despite all the commotion and uproar around this audio setting.
At LAN contests like the CDL Majors, loudness equalization is not permitted. Loudness Equalization is regarded as an unfair advantage because the PCs participants use at these events are scrutinized and regulated to promote fairness.
Although it is theoretically conceivable for Infinity Ward to alter the audio system in MW2 to disable Loudness Equalization effectively, there has yet to be any indication that Infinity Ward intends to do so.
Expect Loudness Equalization to be something you’ll fiddle with soon until Infinity Ward takes action. PC players in the brand-new Ranked Play mode of MW2 are most likely using Loudness Equalization.
Very beneficial, but is MW2’s Loudness Equalization fair? Some would advise joining them rather than trying to defeat them.
Loudness Equalization is equally as important in Warzone 2!
Why Is It Controversial? Loudness Equalization In The CDL

Why is it contentious if it’s a valid method of changing your audio? The simple explanation is that it is overpowering, making it very simple to hear and foresee adversary positions and movements.
Casual gamers can utilize it however they choose, but it’s not easy in the Call of Duty League.
Players utilize standardized PCs at LAN tournaments equipped with pre-determined and uniform settings. It is technically permissible as an optional audio setting, but there is no way to guarantee that players aren’t using it. The same cannot be said regarding online competitions, such as CDL Qualifiers.
