Marcus struggles to pay his credit card bills, and American Express takes him to court for not paying a hefty bill. Marcus Jordan, whose dad is a famous basketball player, is dating Larsa Pippen from The Real Housewives of Miami. Even though he’s facing financial issues, when you watch RHOM Season 6, it seems like everything is perfect between Marcus Jordan and Larsa. But behind the scenes, Marcus had some trouble with his credit card.
Right around the time he started hanging out with Larsa, he kind of forgot to pay the bill. Maybe he was too caught up with Larsa to remember. Anyway, American Express wanted their money back. Marcus got a Business Platinum card in 2016 for his business, the Trophy Room in Orlando, Florida. It’s like a fancy retail shop inspired by the trophy room in the Jordan family house. The bill Marcus owed was a whopping $157,000, and he stopped paying in 2022. So, American Express decided to sue Marcus in December 2022 to get back the big chunk of money he owed them. Oops!
So, get this – in the court case, Marcus agreed to pay off his unpaid balance in $10,000 chunks. Did he hit up Michael Jordan, or maybe ask Larsa for the cash? Who knows, but he somehow scraped together the money each month and cleared the full balance this summer. Talk about turning things around! With the debt settled, Amex dropped the case against Marcus. But I bet they’ll think twice before handing him and his LLC another credit card.
