Before some players deactivated the app and stopped playing the mobile game altogether, Pokemon Go gamers said their goodbyes and showed gratitude to the network. For those who might have missed it, Pokémon Go creator Niantic recently disclosed ideas to update how Remote Raids and Passes operate.
Fans promised a new boycott in response to this statement. They even started a Change.org petition requesting Niantic to alter their decision, which was met with extremely negative feedback from the community.
Some players have already started to meet online to wish the community farewell as they get ready to remove their Pokemon Go profiles or applications before the April 6 update.
Pokemon Go gamers said goodbye to the neighborhood:
When a user posted on the Pokemon Go subreddit with the subject line “To those permanently leaving the game before April 6, don’t forget to appreciate the community,” they included a long explanation of their decision to stop playing the mobile game.
The OP began the message by praising the community and remembering their prior enjoyment of the game. Still, they also criticized Niantic for its most recent, disputed modifications.
Predictably, some trainers in the responses reflected the OP’s feelings and said they, too, might be giving the game up permanently. I’ve settled down with the circumstance, so I’m not extremely upset with Niantic. Due to the remote raid modifications, I’m also departing.
Trainers who declared they would leave the game later on might change their minds if the changes are restored. “Thanks for a good time, boys! I enjoy shiny collecting and playing battle league, so if they go back on any of their modifications, I’ll come back.
Others were understandably afraid to abandon Pokemon Go since they still had things they wanted to accomplish within the game. I appreciate it all. I’m still debating whether to delete or not; I’m a free-to-play player in a rural area, so obviously so Niantic, but if I do, I have objectives for Pogo that I’ll never be capable of achieving.
A lot of people are unhappy with the adjustments Niantic has chosen to make. There will undoubtedly be some players who stop playing Pokemon Go when the Remote Raid modifications take effect on April 6. However, it’s unclear whether fans will ever get an accurate prediction of how many players departed.
