Brizzly Brian Gillis has passed away. Brad Fischetti, a founding member of LFO and a member from 1995 to 1999, announced Gillis’ death on Thursday. However, he was just 47 years old.
According to reports, “Brian ‘Brizz’ Gillis has passed away”. The first two chapters of the LFO story lost a main character yesterday. Also, Fischetti began by saying, “Every story is made up of chapters. Some develop naturally, and others require mental cutting up”. Even if Fischetti did “have details” about Gillis’ death, he said it was not his “place to share them.”
He wrote that the loss was “really difficult for me to process”. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The LFO Story is a tragedy. Furthermore, if you know what I’ve been up to, you know I’ve been trying to bring light into the darkness. To find redemption in pain and suffering, to honour the legacy.
For the time being, Fischetti claims he is only doing this to honour his “former bandmate and friend, Brizz.”
LFO Story livestream
If you watched the LFO Story live stream or saw the band and I play it live. However, you’ll understand what Brian meant to LFO, he wrote. The first two chapters, “the LFO you came to know and (hopefully) love.” Also, you would not exist without his hard work and dedication in LFO’s early days.
Fischetti continued, calling his relationship with Gillis “complex”. Saying the two had “moments of great tribulation but also of great joy.”
As he put it in his letter, he “learned a lot about the business of music and how to put on and rock a show”. I have prayed every day for Brian for many years. Also, it will continue to do so for him, his cherished father, his friends, his family, and all those who loved him.
Moreover, Fischetti said, referring to the 2010 and 2018 deaths of former LFO band members Rich Cronin and Devin Lima. “Rest easy, brother; I hope they make some sweet sounds together,” he says.
