What is Shopware 6?

Shopware 6 is a cutting-edge e-commerce platform that follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, Shopware 5, which was widely used for many years but failed to achieve widespread appeal in the world. The complicated nature of the system was to blame for the inability to win more users. A brand-new approach was used to replace an obsolete platform.

Now, Shopware 6 combines the newest technology stack and provides the most up-to-date extra features for e-commerce. Notably, the system creates a friendly setting for programmers to work in.

Shopware 6 Architecture

The concept of a “headless” online store has been around for quite some time. Although they do not yet control the market, their number is steadily increasing. Shopware 6 is even more “headless” than Magento because its interface and backend are separate. In short, Shopware 6 has three basic components.

Let’s discuss them in detail below.

Core

At its heart, Shopware’s core has all of the system’s features and functions that are designed for conducting business online. It is not strictly a monolith, but rather a modular structure. In addition, the modules are organized by kind and placed in their respective folders.

Administration

The Shopware administration comes in the form of a single-page application and offers a comprehensive user interface on top of the REST-API communicating with the core.

Storefront

Shopware’s frontend is a Web-based user interface (UI) that displays information to store visitors and controls back-end sales channel interfaces.

In fact, the last block may be changed with a solution provided by a third party. This allows you to use the platform’s headless core with any frontend of your choice.

The adaptability and modularity of Shopware 6 is another key feature of headlessness. Its application programming interface (API) is made up of the following standalone services:

  • Sales Channel API: transactions, web searches, and contents;
  • Admin API: settings and data synchronization;
  • Sync API: import operations.

Therefore, Shopware 6 is one of such systems where the store backend and user interface frontend are two separate layers. Take this as a chance to improve platform-specific software solutions. All the capabilities of the platform may be accessed and integrated with third-party systems through the application programming interface (API) endpoints.

In addition, with the assistance of Shopware PWA, you can make the headless nature of the e-commerce platform more streamlined. The PWA functions as the Shopware frontend, which is in control of the backend system. A single Shopware backend can be linked to several different frontends.

Shopware 6 Features

Shopware has other advantages over rivals in addition to its headless architecture. Many unique functionalities are also offered by the system. Let’s talk a little bit about each of them:

1. Rule Builder

You may establish customizable rules for promotions, create cross-sells, and reveal or conceal information in accordance with predetermined criteria using the Rule Builder. The technology offers consumer targeting with intricate rules and user-friendly administration.

2. Shopping Experiences

A new CMS system called Shopping Experiences was released with Shopware 6. It streamlines the purchasing experience across channels by merging the commercial and content components of the transaction. You do not need technical knowledge to understand the function because of a straightforward user interface.

There, you may discover premade blocks that combine messages, photos, and other elements of business. All of these components are responsive and scalable, allowing for easy channel-specific customization.

3. Sales Channels

The concept of selling wherever and whenever your potential clients may be is part of Shopware 6. Shopware 6 is capable of supporting the integration of social networking platforms, marketplaces, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and standard online stores. Because of this, no matter how diverse your channels are, you have a place to manage them all.  Shopware handles localization difficulties such as language, money, and tax with ease.

4. Admin Interface

Imagine a user-friendly admin panel with excellent functionality and simple navigation. It’s Shopware 6’s administration module. The simplified nature of the platform ensures a short learning curve. Every function is readily available to you. The adaptability of the Shopware back end is also crucial. The Vue.js element makes it simple to alter the appearance of the section.

5. Product Management

The creation of several product versions is possible with Shopware 6. Create brand-new product attributes that are appropriate for your company, control them from the relevant page, and apply them to the item level to produce variations of unlimited complexity.

6. Dynamic Catalogs

With the use of adjustable filter criteria, Shopware 6 enables the creation of dynamic product catalogs. The Product Streams tool automates additional product processing and modifies items when certain requirements are fulfilled.

7. SEO

Shopware 6 is equipped with robust SEO features. You have access to a wide variety of tools, including rich snippets, metadata, canonical tags, and more.

8. Promotions

Shopware 6 offers a wide range of marketing tools that attract customers and increase sales with the Discounts & Promotions module. The solution enables you to specify groups, establish discounts per channel, or apply incentives to a particular target market.

9. Media Management

All types of digital media may be safely archived, cataloged, and easily retrieved with Shopware 6. The platform not only speeds up several administration procedures related to managing media material, but it also enables you to handle any data volumes without losing quality. With Shopware 6, you can show the locations of your media, add keywords, refine the data selection, and organize your media by category.

10. B2B Suite

Shopware offers a B2B framework that is incorporated into already established workflows and procedures. It comes with features like Advanced partner contact management, Budgeting, Partner-specific price functionalities, Fast ordering, and more.
