The Next Generation crew is back together in the season 3 teaser
The Enterprise crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation is beaming back up for Star Trek: Picard.
The first teaser trailer with actual footage from the third and final season of Patrick Stewart’s spin-off series was unveiled Thursday as part of Star Trek Day. (A previous sneak peek released at San Diego Comic-Con gave us a glimpse of the returning players in character.) Therefore, the new promo looks at Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, and Marina Sirtis joining Picard stars Stewart, Jeri Ryan, and Michelle Hurd.
It’s not a reunion,” Stewart said during a Q&A on the Star Trek Day stage. “It is an essential gathering of all the most important elements of Star Trek: The Next Generation to do what they do best.”
Moreover, The footage gives us a little more information about how the gang gets back together.
Crusher (McFadden) sends a distress message to Jean-Luc Picard (Stewart). “We need your help,” she says. Now, once again, the admiral needs a ship, as he discusses with his old pal Riker (Frakes).
“I can’t ask you to put yourself in danger,” Picard tells him.
Star trek: ‘The Next Generation reunion ‘plot line
The season’s story appears to kick off with a distress call from Picard’s old flame. Also, former chief medical officer Beverly Crusher, but of course, there are galaxy-wide stakes here as well.
Picard mainstays Patrick Stewart, Jeri Ryan, and Michelle Hurd return in season 3 for their usual roles. As Brent Spiner will pick up his fourth discrete character in the show’s history. Also, it’s a warped prototype of Next Generation’s android officer, Data. Joining the main cast are pretty much all the TNG mainstays — LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, and Marina Sirtis. As well as Pulp Fiction’s Amanda Plummer, as the seemingly new villain, Vadic. The trailer reveals that Todd Stashwick and Ed Speleers also join the cast.
Also, and this is wild, three decades after his two appearances on Star Trek, Daniel Davis is back to play Professor Moriarty. You know, the sentient hologram version of the fictional character.
