Do you love the wonderful taste of a cappuccino and wonder about the magic behind it? If yes, then you are in the right place. The good news is that you don’t only have to enjoy it when you visit the cafe. This is because you can make it at your home with the help of an espresso machine.

This article has shown you a few steps to take and easily make your cappuccino at any time.

1. Refrigerate the Milk

One of the main components of this wonderful drink is milk and the first step is to refrigerate it. The reason why cold milk is recommended is that it foams better than a warm one.Best of all, you can use any type of milk. For example, oat milk, coconut milk, cow milk, and almond milk among others, no matter whether you are making a Latte VS Cappuccino. It must stay in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.

2. Grind Your Coffee Beans

You need good quality fresh coffee beans for the cappuccino. You have to ground them using a burr grinder. This is because it gives uniform particles that are better than those of a blade grinder.

Here’s a secret. Most baristas get the freshest coffee possible by grinding the coffee beans into the portafilter directly, which you can also do.

3. Tamp the Grinded Coffee Beans

The next step is to tamp the grounds using a tamper. It looks like a stamp and it is a small and round flat object with a handle. It presses the ground coffee to enter an even disc for the smooth operation of the portafilter.

But you shouldn’t press too hard because the disc may become compacted, so light pressure is recommended.

4. Prepare Your Cup

After, you need to prepare your cup for the final process. You have to pour boiling water in it and a 160-milliliter cappuccino cup is the best option.

5. Pull an Espresso Shot

Slide the filter basket gently into your machine and lock it in place using the handle. Then pour the hot water into your espresso machine and place the cup down. You can now either use a switch or a button depending on what is on your machine to let the coffee stream out into your cup.

6. Steam Your Milk

After getting the espresso shot, you have to steam the milk. At this time, the machine now has built-up steam and the steam wand helps you to release it. Remove the milk from the fridge and bring it to the machine. Then insert the steam wand into it for the steaming process to take place. The best temperature to get the milk ready for serving is 130 degrees Fahrenheit.

7. Pour the Milk

The last part is to pour the steamed milk on top of the espresso into the cappuccino cup. You can then finish the process with a foam layer and serve it immediately.

Enjoy the Great Taste

Both Latte VS Cappuccino are fantastic drinks you can enjoy whether at the cafe or home and the above tips will help you in making the latter.
