The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has disclosed that she is suffering from stage 2 melanoma. Teddi Mellencamp rose to fame for her stints on reality television. She is the daughter of rock music singer John Mellencamp. If you are wondering what melanoma is, you must know it is the most serious type of skin cancer. Melanoma includes symptoms like a new, abnormal growth or a change in an existing mole. This disease occurs when pigment-producing cells that give colour to the skin become malignant, that is, cancerous.
Is melanoma curable?
You will be relieved to learn that melanoma is the most invasive type of skin cancer, but it is also highly curable if diagnosed and treated early.
Teddi Mellencamp relapses

The 41-year-old reality star shared a photo of a scar on her shoulder on her Instagram account. She stated that in spite of her anxiety, she listened to the doctors and went for a skin check-up after 3 months after her previous melanoma. You will be shocked to learn that the doctors said she had another abnormal spot near her last one. Thus, they did a biopsy and called Mellencamp in the morning. She is now suffering from Stage 2 melanoma.
What does Teddi Mellencamp have to say?
The star says that she continued to put baby oil and iodine on her body during her teenage years. She is a 90s teen. Thus, she followed the traditional way to tan her skin. She further adds that she never applied sunscreen or got her moles checked till she was 40 years old. She says that her journey of overcoming melanoma has been such a wake-up call for her. However, she ardently requests her fans to protect their skins. Early treatment is crucial. Thus, as we can see, Mellencamp urges the world to take skincare seriously.
Teddi in tears
Teddi shared a video in which she is crying. It’s a grim spectacle. Maybe personal, too, for many of us. She says, “So I just finished my workout and got the call from the doctor that the other spot came back with melanoma.” She states that earlier she used to wonder what could even happen in 3 months. In fact, she wrote in her post that she wanted so desperately to avoid this. Therefore, we can infer that apparently a lot can happen in 3 months, and we must get our skin checked regularly.
It’s recurring
The reality star previously battled melanoma in March this year. She was taken to the doctor by former castmate Kyle Richards, who did not fail to notice that her skin was changing colour.

Why does Teddi interact with her fans so much?
In conclusion, she says she finds strength in being honest with her fans. She has that courage. However, she is a true philanthropist. She shares the darker tales of her own life to raise her fans’ awareness and thus help them. We all are praying for her soonest recovery.
