Chrishell Stause doesn’t shy away from defending her partner, G Flip, no matter who decides to pick a fight. The most recent instance of Stause standing up against homophobic attacks on her and G Flip happened during the Selling Sunset season 7 reunion special.
In the reunion, things got heated when Tan France, the host, brought up a hurtful Instagram comment that Nicole Young had responded to. Stause’s friend Chelsea Lazkani tried to explain to Young that by responding positively to a comment that identifies Chrishell through her sexuality in a derogatory way, it’s essentially supporting a hurtful message.
However, Young wasn’t convinced, claiming she didn’t realize it was homophobic to refer to someone as a “gay man” or “lesbian woman.” This is when Stause decided to take a stand.
“Say whatever you want about me; I can handle it. But don’t go after my partner. Ever. I’ve been tough on you, I hate you, and I own it… If you’re going to support homophobic people just because they hate me for that reason, that is hate, Nicole,” Stause asserted.
Stause also brought up a previous conversation with Marie-Lou Nurk, who was dating Jason Oppenheim. In that conversation, Nurk had been rude to Stause and misgendered G Flip, who uses they/them pronouns.
“I was hoping that when you hung out with me and my partner, you would see how deeply in love I am. I couldn’t be more in love with my partner, and it’s very obvious if you spend even five minutes with us,” Stause explained to Nurk.
Dealing with people making them a topic and a punching bag on camera is not enjoyable for Stause. She expressed frustration with everyone who came at her during the season.
