What happened to Jimmy Garoppolo? All his fans are eager to know about his current whereabouts.
During a Sunday Night Football game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Pittsburgh Steelers, the starting quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, faced an injury scare late in the first half.
The injury occurred when Pittsburgh’s T.J. Watt tackled Garoppolo in an awkward manner, causing him to limp off the field and head to the locker room before halftime. The injury looked concerning initially, given the awkward nature of the tackle and Garoppolo’s left leg getting caught under Watt during the sack.
To make matters much worse, Pittsburgh’s DeMarvin Leal fell on top of Garoppolo’s upper body during the tackle, causing him to bend backwards. This series of events raised alarm among fans and onlookers.
However, there was a positive turn of events for Garoppolo and the Raiders. Despite being severely injured, Garoppolo returned to the field for the Raiders’ opening drive of the second half.
Needless to say, this quick return to the game was quite surprising, as the injury had raised a lot of concerns at first about his ability to continue playing. No one expected him to be on his feet so soon.
Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels reassured everyone during the halftime break, stating that Garoppolo was “good to go” and ready to resume play. This was a relief for both the team and Garoppolo himself.
Who is Jimmy Garoppolo?

All the football fans out there must have heard Jimmy’s name. For those who have not, Jimmy Garoppolo is an American football quarterback currently playing for the Las Vegas Raiders in the National Football League (NFL).
He played college football at Eastern Illinois University, setting records for career passing yards and passing touchdowns. During his senior year, he also won the Walter Payton Award as the most outstanding player in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
He initially served as the backup to Tom Brady and was part of two Super Bowl-winning teams with the Patriots. In the year 2017, he was traded to the San Francisco 49ers, where he had a significant impact on the team, helping them turn their season around.
However, in my opinion, his most successful season with the 49ers was in the year 2019, when he led the team to the top seed in their conference and an appearance in Super Bowl LIV.
However, injuries, including a torn ACL in the year 2018, plagued his tenure in San Francisco. After a season-ending injury in the year 2022, Garoppolo signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in the year 2023, becoming their starting quarterback.
Where is Jimmy Garoppolo Now?
Jimmy Garoppolo is currently playing for the Las Vegas Raiders. He was traded from the San Francisco 49ers to the Las Vegas Raiders as part of the NFL offseason moves.
This trade occurred because of various factors, including Garoppolo’s injury history and the 49ers’ desire to develop a young quarterback, which led them to select Trey Lance in the 2021 NFL Draft.
While Garoppolo had successful moments with the 49ers, including NFC Championship Game appearances and a Super Bowl, his frequent injuries made it challenging for the team to rely on him consistently.
He signed a three-year, $67.5 million contract with the Raiders on March 17, 2023, officially making him a part of the team. This signing marked his transition to the Raiders as their starting quarterback.
The trade and signing reunited Garoppolo with Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels, who previously served as the offensive coordinator during Garoppolo’s time with the New England Patriots.
Jimmy Garoppolo is currently playing for Las Vegas Raiders.
