Full Home Filtration System

Are you happy with the quality of water you get when you open the taps in your home? It’s no secret that no matter how much sterilizing is done at water treatment plants, there’s still a considerable amount of sediment, chlorine, and heavy metals present.

Many Australians are turning to the plumber Brisbane locals are using to help them create cleaner water in their homes. It’s as simple as installing a full home filtration system. This post explores the definition of this system and also looks at why you should consider investing in one.

Full Home Filtration Systems Defined

A full home filtration system is an Australian concept that has been designed specifically for use in Australian water conditions. These systems filter the water that enters your home and reduce and even eliminate many of the sediments found in tap water.

A huge benefit of this system is that it provides filtered water to all the taps in your home, rather than just the one that the unit is connected to. Essentially, the system is installed at the primary point where the main water lines come into the home. This means that the water is filtered before it reaches your taps.

More Reasons for Than Against

If you’ve been taking a closer look at the water that comes into your home, you would have found research that indicates that it takes about 50 different chemicals to purify water enough to use in your home. You’re probably familiar with the regular purifying chemicals such as Fluoride and Chlorine, but how much do you know about man-made chemicals such as perfluoro octane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA)?

Both of these chemicals may be excellent for purifying water, but they have been known to have long-term health effects. It’s with this in mind that many Australians are choosing to add an extra layer of filtration to the water in their homes. We’ve compiled a list of the top reasons why you should consider doing the same.

1. One System Filters the Whole House’s Water

The number one reason why you should invest in a full home filtration system is that it differs from other water filter systems in one major way. Typically, store-bought filter units function as point-of-use systems, which means they only work at the tap where they’re installed.

Unlike these, a full home filtration system is installed at the main line entry point and, as a result, filters the water before it reaches your tap. It also means that all the water in your home will be clean and fresh, and you can safely drink water from any tap. There’s no need for multiple filter systems, and you won’t have to filter water after it comes out of the tap.

2. Removes a Large Amount of Chemicals

As we’ve already mentioned, the water from your tap has already gone through a vigorous purification process but still contains a significant amount of chemicals. A full home filtration system takes the filtering process one step further by removing many of the chemicals that make it to your water. Lead, chlorine, sediment, and chloramines are the most common. Once these chemicals have been removed, water not only becomes healthier but also tastes fresher.

3. Cleaner Water is Safer for Drinking and Cooking

Many people resort to buying bottled water because they don’t feel that regular tap water is safe for drinking or cooking. This can become quite costly, especially if you’re already paying for water to come to your home from the main line. Since water that has been filtered is healthier and also tastes and smells better, it can easily be used for cooking. Filtered water is also safer for children and pets to drink.

4. Creates Healthier Skin and Hair

Using excessively hard water for bathing and showering can result in dry hair and skin. It happens when chemicals, such as chlorine, strip the natural oils from your skin or hair. It has also been known to aggravate skin conditions such as eczema.

You can avoid it by installing a full home filtration system, which will instantly create softer, less harmful water. Before you invest in expensive creams and medications to treat dry, itchy skin, consider filtering the water. You’ll not only feel better, but you’ll also be saving money in the long run.

5. Much Better for the Environment

If you’re regularly buying bottled water, you’ll have built up a huge collection of plastic waste. Since plastic water bottles are typically not reused, they are usually sent straight to the landfill, causing significant plastic waste in the environment. Using filtered water reduces the amount of plastic you put into the environment.

Final Thought

As you can see, there are a few good reasons why a full home filtration system is a must-have for every Australian home. Since this system can easily be connected to your water mains by a trusted plumber, getting access to fresh water is easier than you think. Since all the taps in your home will have the same quality water, it’s a win-win!
