Players of Final Fantasy XIV have voiced dissatisfaction with Square Enix over the lack of grinding necessary for the newest Manderville Relic Weapons added in Patch 6.35.
As the game slowly adds new content in preparation for the upcoming significant expansion, Final Fantasy XIV is presently in its post-patches for Endwalker. Players have so far experienced a ton of new narrative quests, raids, ultimate fights, and other content. With the most recent release of Patch 6.35, there are many duties to complete during the gap between significant updates.
The Relic Weapons are one of these notable accomplishments. For every fighting job, there are elegant Relic Weapons. These weapons have their own VFX and shiny particles all around them, frequently making them appealing to players ready to take them. Players who want clean cosmetics but want to avoid creating them or finishing an ultimate have a choice in Relic Weapons.
However, obtaining Relic Weapons would involve a fair amount of grinding since numerous quest stages had to be finished. This process, referred to by the community as the notorious Relic Weapon grind can take several days to finish. But the grind keeps players interested while they work on the weapon, and the reward is certainly worth it.
In Patch 6.35, the second stage of the Manderville weaponry, the tier of Relic weapons was made available. Players are unhappy with the absence of a grind that comes with the weapons, even though they appear well-kept.
From daily roulettes to end-game narrative activities, Tomestones of Astronomy can be acquired in most Final Fantasy XIV activities. It takes 1500 Tomestones of Astronomy to obtain the second class of Manderville weapons. This starkly contrasts with earlier tiers of Relic Weapons, where gathering the materials required players to finish various dungeons repeatedly.
After Patch 6.35 was released, players who had the Tomestones stored up may immediately obtain the next stage of the Manderville weapon. Thus, the community has stated their dismay at the lack of the grind, desiring to taste the satisfaction of getting the weapon after the difficult journey.
As a result, players now have a little less material to look forward to as the grind for a Relic Weapon encouraged users to be online constantly throughout the day. Because players now have something to strive towards in the game, large expansions might be developed more quickly.
It needs to be clarified whether Final Fantasy XIV will keep lowering the prerequisites for Relic Weapons. Yet many more steps remain to take because these are only the first two in the Relic Weapon questline for Endwalker. This allows Square Enix to bring the grind back into the game if they choose.
