Follow the Steps:
A Rift in Time Expansion
Ensure you own the “A Rift in Time” expansion to access the content required for unlocking Gaston. Progress through the opening quests until you reach “The Glittering Dunes,” the area where Gaston is located.
Locate Gaston
In “The Glittering Dunes,” find Gaston standing near the sand waterfall on the far west edge of the map.
Initial Interaction
Speak to Gaston, who will express his need for sustenance and send you on a quest to collect items for him in “The Glittering Dunes.”
- Green Spiky-Leafed Plants (Agave): Found throughout the biome
- Flexing Spider-Like Thing (Scorpion): Fish up in the sand near Gaston
- Sweet Brown Raisin Things (Dates): Found on trees around the area
Return to Gaston
After collecting the items, return to Gaston and follow him to his encampment. Investigate three clues: Coconut Husks, Homemade Glude, and Paint Palette.
Open the Path to The Wastes
To continue the quest, you need to open the path to The Wastes, requiring 4,000 Mist. Once the path is open, speak to Gaston at the eastern edge of the area.
Fish for “… LeFou?”
Fish up an item called “… LeFou?” from the quicksand next to Gaston.
Find Desert Scarab Piece
Using the Hourglass tool, find the Desert Scarab Piece in The Plains. The location appears to be randomized. After finding the Desert Scarab Piece, speak to a holograph of Jafar at a location of your choosing.
Wait for Gaston to Re-center
Give Gaston some time to “re-center himself” by waiting for a few hours. After waiting, speak to Gaston again, and he will instruct you to talk to Rapunzel.
Collect Swarming Insects
Head to The Grove and find Swarming Insects in the northeastern section near the entrance to The Lagoon. Take a picture of the swarm and show it to Rapunzel, who will then ask you to collect some flowers to make arrangements.
Craft Carnivorous Floral Arrangements
Collect specific items in the Wild Tangle biome and craft two Carnivorous Floral Arrangements at a crafting bench. you will need to collect the following items:
- Green Fly Trap x4
- Purple Fly Trap x4
- Red Pitcher Plant x4
- Yellow Pitcher Plant x4
- Tropical Wood x12
Place Arrangements Near Insects
Return to the swarm of insects, place the Carnivorous Floral Arrangements beside it, and speak to Gaston again.
Obtain Jungle Scarab Piece
Head back to the swarm of insects, pick up the second Jungle Scarab piece, and speak to Jafar at a Hologram Station. Access the blueprint, find a Time bending Table, and craft the cleaned-up Jungle Scarab Piece using Dream Shards and Mist.
Final Visit to Gaston
Speak to Gaston one last time, follow the flying scarab north, and enter the Cave of Wonders.
