Kitchen Countertops

Are you thinking about installing stone kitchen countertops Manahawkin? There are three main stones used in kitchen decor – marble, granite, and quartz. When it comes to long-lasting, durable luxury, which stone is better for kitchen countertops Egg Harbor?

Table of Contents

  • 1. Granite
  • 2. Quartz
  • 3. Marble

1. Granite

Granite is one of the first stones people think of when stone countertops are brought into the conversation, and for very good reason. It is the stone most commonly used in the kitchen. Since it is a natural stone, sealed granite countertops are incredibly luxurious and durable. They are heat, water, and scratch-resistant, which enables them to stay beautiful for many years.

White Granite is sold as a slab or prefabricated. Prefabricated, meaning the stone has been cut to a default size by the fabricator. Another thing making granite one of the best stones to use is that no two pieces are the same. On the other hand, granite requires regular maintenance to protect it from stains, scratches, and other damage, plus it is incredibly heavy.

2. Quartz

Quartz has quickly become the second most popular choice for countertops in recent years. Typically, quartz and granite are around the same price range. It is manufactured using particles of the quartz mineral, resin, and pigments. The manufacturing process makes this stone very water and stain-resistant. Unfortunately, quartz is not heat-resistant due to the resin used to bind it together.

Too much heat can damage or discolor your countertop. You will need to place a trivet, towel, or potholder under hot objects, like pans. Through the manufacturing process, quartz can take on many colors, patterns, and looks. The best thing about quartz is that it is relatively maintenance free, unlike other stones, meaning there is no real need to reseal it.

3. Marble

Marble is known to add a touch of luxury, class, and elegance wherever it is used. Historically, marble has been used for sculptures, statues, and in the building process, due to its beauty. When it comes to stone for kitchen countertops, marble is the least desired due to its durability.

You can seal marble, but it is still vulnerable to staining, scratching, and heat. It is not suited to stand up to many of the tasks required when cooking. It is also not water-resistant, so you will need to be careful not to damage it.

Being one of the most expensive stones, careful consideration should be taken when selecting the color, pattern, and style of slab to use. The most significant differences between quartz, granite, and marble is the fact that quartz slabs are not entirely natural stone, and marble is very expensive compared to the other two.

When it comes to luxury for your kitchen countertops Egg Harbor, marble is nice for its smooth lines and resistance to stains. The strongest against stains and scratches is quartz, possibly due to the way it is engineered.

If you want the best of both worlds in looks, ability to withstand heat, and scratch resistance, install granite kitchen countertops.

In the long run, each stone is a good fit for any kitchen with the proper care.
