1. Park your Car

Enter the self-service car wash first, then choose a station that is convenient for you. Usually, you can follow a parking spot marked on the ground. If not, make sure that your car is parked in the center of the garage-like bay. By doing this, you can be sure that there is space for you to move around while cleaning on all sides.

 2. Remove the Interior Floor Mats

Second, take the floor mats out of your car, whether they are made of rubber or plastic. Later, you’ll clean these separately. Just set them up against a wall for the moment.

3. Locate the Sprayer Wand

Now, find the spray wand or sprayer. Verify that the station’s sprayers are within easy reach of you. You should cover as little distance as possible. Change your parking spot if you need to reach your car but can’t. After that, become familiar with using the spray wand. To release the water, point the nozzle away from you and squeeze the handle or trigger, which is typically above or below the nozzle.

4. Learn the Sprayer Settings

Fourth, become familiar with the various sprayer panel settings. Depending on which self-service station you are at, there may be a variety of settings. The majority, however, will provide 2 to 5 settings. The three default settings are “wash,” “soap,” and “rinse.” Pre-washing before beginning any cleaning and more are further advanced alternatives.

  • The washing process removes all the loose dust, filth, sand, and grime from your car. The pressurized stream of water only has one to two power settings on the majority of spray wands. Others might have more elaborate sequences, though.
  • Cleaning agents and solutions can be used in this situation. At this point, your car receives a more in-depth cleaning. Salt, oil, and other tenacious materials are taken out.
  • When you rinse, all of the soap has been removed from your car. It will finish your cleaning process in the most basic settings. You can now start your car.

5. Familiarize yourself with the Payment Options

Fifth, look over your payment alternatives. Coins are typically used to pay for services. But there are a few exceptions. Some will demand payment in the form of bills or a credit card. Payment instructions will be displayed on a board or banner. You must carefully read the instructions.

  • Because these car washes are timed, be prepared to start cleaning your car as soon as you put money into the machine.

6. To Get Rid of Any Loose Pollutants, Wash the Car

Sixth, start the washing. Holding it away from yourself, aim the spray wand at your car. Press the handle or trigger to let the pressurized water out. To prevent harm to your car from the high-pressure water, make sure you are at least three to five feet away. Be careful not to aim the water directly at the engine bay when you wash your car from top to bottom.

You just need to complete one or two laps. Or until you can see that all of the loose dust, dirt, and sand has been removed. Next, spray-clean the floor mats that you had earlier left aside.

7. Add Soap and Cover the Vehicle In Suds

Add soap in step seven. When you follow the identical procedure as above, the machine panel’s “soap” option will be set, and soap will start to emerge from the spray wand. Make one more lap around your car to fully clean it with soap. Put suds on the car and take special care of the soiled tires.

8. Rinse Off All the Soap and Suds from the Vehicle

You will now swap out the sprayer for a foam brush or sponge. Before beginning any activity, carefully wash it. Do this cautiously as there may be junk remnants within. Because you did not thoroughly clean the rinsing equipment, you do not want to abrade or scrape the surfaces of your car. Better still, bring your clean brush or sponge with you.

9. Scrub the Vehicle Thoroughly

Utilize it to clean your car. Make sure to reach all the crevices and corners. To remove any collected contaminants, move in circular motions. Take a short lap instead, so the suds don’t remain on your car for too long.

10. Re-rinse the Vehicle and Let It Air Dry

Take your spray bottle out of the holder and press the panel’s “rinse” button. Make short, cautious laps around your automobile to remove all the soap. Run water through the car three to four times to make sure no soapy traces are remaining. Then allow it to drip dry.
