There are still 15 Pokémon that are absent from the hardware and will never make it, according to Scarlet & Violet DLC leaks, despite the Nintendo Switch boasting two new generations of Pokemon, remakes of Gen 1 and 4, and a new spinoff adventure.
The year 2023 will be the sixth since the Nintendo Switch’s appearance. The Pokemon franchise has gained from this console’s unique capabilities and Nintendo games. The hybrid system became the new home for the mainline Pokemon games, previously exclusive to portable devices.
Furthermore, the previous six years have been extremely important for The Pokémon Company as the franchise shifted from 2D to 3D to open-world. And now that Pokemon has entered Generations 8 and 9, there are more than 1,000 species.
A few Pokemon may still need to make it to the Nintendo Switch despite five mainstream releases, nine games, and four waves of DLC. We don’t know which Pokemon will be in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s DLC, but recent reports indicate that 15 Pokémon won’t be included in the current console generation.
On the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, which Pokemon cannot be caught?

The Pokemon Company announced that more than 230 species would return in the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC, and a well-known data miner @mattyoukhana_ states to have revealed which Pokemon will be entering Gen 9.
In addition to the Pokemon present in Sword & Shield, Legends Arceus, BDSP, and Let’s Go P/E, this list also includes 15 additional Pokemon that have not yet been included in a Nintendo Switch game. Those Pokémon are:
- Snivy
- Service
- Serperior
- Tepig
- Pignite
- Emboar
- Patrat
- Watchog
- Simisage
- Pansage
- Simisear
- Pansear
- Simipour
- Panpour
- Furfrou
A user Jumpsand brought attention to these Pokémon. Some criticized the removal of their favorite Pokemon in the post’s comments section. In contrast, others were surprised that only a dozen or so species—out of the 1,000—included two well-known beginning lines.
Despite this, we can’t say for sure that these Pokémon will never appear on the Nintendo Switch. The Pokemon Company won’t release any more Pokemon games on the Switch, according to a different idea that is the basis of this one.
This hypothesis is reasonable because there have only been two new generations of Pokemon games on a specific platform, with spinoffs and remakes in between.
According to players, the Nintendo Switch may also be nearing the end of its useful life. According to other reliable reports, the DLC for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will be released simultaneously as a new Switch model.
On a concluding note:
So in the above-mentioned passages, we have discussed all the 15 species which will be missing in Pokemon scarlet & violet, according to DLC reports for more updates.
