With the ongoing pandemic, a lot of companies have adopted a work from home model which helps to ensure that their staff is kept safe. With such an arrangement, it can get easy for a person to work all day in their pajamas as they do not need to dress up for work. While Sweatpants are quite comfortable for many, studies have shown that getting ready and picking an outfit can help to set your intention for the day and boost productivity.
Now you do not necessarily have to wear a power suit from the comfort of your home, but you can opt for something more casual, like loungewear. Think baggy sweatshirts, hoodies, shorts, or even cropped sweatpants. All these are just a few types that you can wear, be comfortable with, and remain stylish as you work from home.
Styling cropped sweatpants
1. Remember the rule of thirds when dressing up
This concept generally dictates that when picking an outfit, it is best to split your body into thirds as opposed to halves. As such, if you have a lengthy skirt, for example, you want to pair it with a smaller, more fitting top as opposed to a long loose blouse. The opposite is true, such as when you have a baggy sweatshirt, you would need to complete your look with skinny jeans or shorts.
When it comes to cropped sweatpants, you want to go for a more loose-fitting top, if the pants are fitted like jeggings. This will help to create a clean, crisp look. Alternatively, if your cropped sweatpants are wide-legged, then a plain tucked tank top will work well, or a nice fitting crop top.
2. Get matching sets
Most loungewear often comes in twos, a top, and pants to complement each other. If you are not very good at styling, then getting a matching set is an easy and safe bet for you to get a good outfit. If you would like to gift your friend loungewear and are unsure of what they would like, then a matching set would also be a good option to consider.
If you would however prefer to get independent pieces, then that works just fine as well. As a general rule, it is always best to pair a floral or geometric print with a plain top or pants, to balance everything out. Furthermore, do not underestimate the power of a plain black or white tee, as they are excellent for a minimalist, elegant look.
3. Accessorize
To elevate your working-from-home look, you can get a couple of casual light pieces to accessorize your look. For instance, anklets go quite well with cropped pants, as they will help to add some bling to your fit. You can also pair some necklaces with your sweatshirt or earrings. Most loungewear items often come in plain pastel or dull colors.
As such, to add some extra pizzazz to your outfit, then jewelry and accessories are the way to go. For cropped pants, a nice fanny pack would be a great addition to your look especially when you need to step out of the house.
