Hey there! There’s a fresh update for Dead by Daylight, version 2.98, which you can grab on PS4, PS5 (version 7.300.200), PC, and Xbox. In this update, the folks at Dead by Daylight have fixed a bunch of bugs, made the gameplay better, and done some work on the Low Power Mode Add-on for the character “The Skull Merchant.” They’ve also worked on making the gaming experience smoother and more balanced.
Before this update, the 2.90 update for Dead by Daylight introduced a new killer and survivors. But sadly, since the last patch (2.94), players have been dealing with some bugs and issues in the game. Luckily, with today’s version 2.98, they’re aiming to fix some of those problems.
Here’s a bit more about what’s in Dead by Daylight (DBD) Version 2.98, which they released on October 26, 2023:
Killer – The Skull Merchant
They’ve made changes to the Low Power Mode Add-on:
- It now completely stops the Drone Rotation, meaning it won’t turn anymore.
- But it doesn’t reduce the Power cooldown by 25% anymore.
Environment/ Maps
- In the Shattered Square Map, they’ve increased the maximum number of pallets to 18. This change prevents large areas of the map from having no pallets, and they’ve also made the loops in the map safer. This should make the game more enjoyable for both sides.
Remember, there’s no guarantee that the map will always have this many pallets. It will stop spawning pallets if it reaches the minimum requirement and there’s no more space for new ones.
Bug Fixes Audio
- Collected or despawned memory fragment shards won’t make sounds anymore.
Characters
- They fixed an issue with The Huntress’ reload animation that used to cause motion sickness when using the Iron Maiden perk.
- The Xenomorph’s pick-up animation from a Locker won’t jitter in a specific Locker inside the Main Building anymore.
- The heads of all female Survivors won’t stick through the Hook during the struggle phase now.
- The Legion’s upper body won’t look all twisted while the camera goes back to its usual position after using Memento Mori.
- The Cannibal’s camera won’t go through Lockers when making a basic attack on them.
- Survivors won’t clip through the artist when picking up or putting down survivors.
The Demogorgon
- Its Portals’ auras will now properly appear after performing a Mori.
Environment/Maps
- They’ve fixed various issues like killer spawn points, collision problems, and clipping in different maps to make things smoother.
Event – Haunted By Daylight
- Lighting will reset correctly when entering the Void during The Dredge’s Nightfall or in The Nightmare’s Dreamworld.
Killer – The Skull Merchant
- Claw traps will be destroyed properly when a survivor disconnects without being replaced by a bot in a Custom Game.
- The Map will now properly track The Skull Merchant’s drones when they’re equipped with the Red Twine Add-On.
Misc
- They’ve also sorted out an issue that was disconnecting players during the trial.
