First on the list
And probably the most important thing on the list – is to set a date that is perfect for both you and your partner. Make sure you pick a date that’s well in the future and gives you plenty of time to prepare for the big day. Before searching for a venue and sending out save the dates, be sure to create a rough guest list to get a better understanding of how many guests you will have. Next on the list is planning your budget
Before you can begin planning, you need to crunch down on who is paying for what in the wedding. You don’t want to go into the wedding with huge amounts of debt so be honest with much you can afford. If you’re planning on having an overseas wedding that requires the guests to buy plane tickets and stay in a hotel.
Be sure to do plenty of research to find something that fits everyone’s budget and don’t be disheartened if someone can’t make it due to finance. Once you have a budget in place, you can decide on venue, location, dresses and suits, and decoration.
If you’re hoping for a civil ceremony, you’ll need to book a registrar. And if you plan on getting married in a church, you’ll need to check the church is available on your venue date. Once all the stressful bits are out the way, you can start shopping for your wedding dress or suit, plan the hen and stag do, and plan how you want to decorate the venue. From floral walls to balloons, photo booths to centerpieces, there’s plenty of ways to create the perfect wedding venue for you and your partner.
