Paco Rabanne’s Salary
Paco Rabanne reportedly had a fortune of $28 million (almost £23 million) at the time of his death in February 2023. His main source of income came from designing jewellery, clothing, and perfume.
However, Rabanne was not always wealthy, despite the fact that he became extremely wealthy over time. Because his father was a Republican Colonel killed in the Spanish Civil War, the designer had a difficult upbringing.
The Spanish fashion and fragrance brand claimed Rabanne “played a significant part in Puig’s history,” crediting him with the company’s “early and current triumphs.” However, according to the corporation, Rabanne “marked generations with his unorthodox vision of fashion,” and his legacy will live on in the many stories told about him.
Rabanne studied architecture at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts after graduating from École Polytechnique. However, Paco Rabanne’s creations are said to be a favourite of singer and composer Françoise Hardy. On her 1996 concert tour, singer Mylène Farmer wore the label.
In 1968, the designer and Puig created a fragrance
Rabanne’s scents were available in stores by 1968, thanks to his collaboration with Puig, a prestigious Spanish perfume house. Puig eventually took over as the new owner of Paco Rabanne.
Puig and Rabanne established a fragrance plant in Chartres, France, in 1976. He made his debut with the fragrance XS in 1994. The scent industry continues to thrive.
Rabanne was a painter as well as the author of the divisive work Has the Countdown Begun? His books From Darkness to Light (1994) and Fire From Heaven (1999) contain some outrageous claims.
