Making a Peppa Pig Birthday Cake
Any cake mix or recipe will work just fine for this cake. In reality, to make such favorites as Chocolate Toffee Caramel Cake, I used my go-to chocolate cake recipe. You can use a boxed cake mix if you like. Also, the cake batter is simple to make.
Ingredients To Make Peppa Pig Cake
I made 1 1/2 doses of this recipe and baked 2 yogurt cakes on a round 16 cm (6.3 inches) pan.

- Bake the cake first. 2 yogurt cakes that I made and frozen.
- The fondant should then be colored in all the necessary areas. Use a toothpick to color a piece of fondant by dipping it in the gel color and rubbing it on. After that, mix the ingredients.
- About three to four days before the event, you can begin making fondant decorations (just be sure to keep it wrapped up and in a dry place).
- I used my stencils to create Peppa Pig, the ducks, and the dinosaur. It is very simple to do; all you need is a printed picture of what you want to create, some clean cardboard, transfer paper, a pen, and an Exacto cutter. Placing a piece of transfer paper between the image and the cardboard will allow you to transfer the image by outlining it with a pen on the cardboard. Remove all of the individual components. I always employ this technique when using my stencils (especially when baking cookies), allowing me to create almost whatever I desire.
- Put together the cake the day before the celebration. I prepared some frosting for the topping on the crumbs (you can use your favorite icing recipe, just make sure that it is a little less dense as it needs to be smooth and you should be able to apply it easily). I removed the two yogurt cakes from the freezer and used a sharp serrated knife to level them while they were still frozen.
- I put a layer of icing on the cake and topped it with the other cake. Make sure to choose the smoothest and flattest of the cake surfaces for the cake top (it is very likely going to be the bottom of one of the cakes), this will make it easier to ice and decorate the cake. Now you are ready to crumb coat it. You can do this while the cakes are still frozen and it is much easier this way. Start from the top, then do the sides.
- Use a cake spatula to make sure the surface of the cake is as smooth as possible. When the cake is all covered in icing, put it in the fridge to harden. This coating will make the fondant top look smooth and it will ensure that no crumbs will be visible through it. This coating will give the fondant top a smooth appearance and guarantee that no crumbs will show through it.
- The cake should be placed onto a cake board once the icing has dried. Don’t forget to use a little icing to secure it to the base.
- After that, cover one-third of the cake with the light blue fondant you just rolled out. Cover the remaining cake with the rolled-out green fondant. Take a fondant smoother, smooth it out, and trim the excess.
- I created Peppa Pig’s face, clothes, legs, hands, feet, tail, and all the face details by making them with water and attaching the ornaments I had ready. In addition to using cookie cutters for the clouds, sun, and flowers, I also used a clean garlic press to create the grass. A small pond with a duck was added, along with some other birds I had made.
