Jennifer Garner joins the cast of the Starz comedy Party Down season 3 as Evie. A film director who develops romantic emotions for Henry (Adam Scott). He works at the show’s namesake catering company. The fourth episode, “KSGY-95 Prizewinner’s Luau,” premiered this past Friday. And featured the two spending their most recent shift at a pre-concert Malibu luau on mushrooms, which ignited their full-fledged romance.
The emotional ups and downs of Garner’s character allow the 50-year-old actress’ comedic abilities to really shine. The rest of the squad, played by Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen, Tyrel Jackson Williams, and Zo Chao, join in on the wonderful unexpected adventures that follow, particularly for Garner’s character.
After learning what she had to do in the episode, Garner tells ET’s Will Marfuggi, “It was terrifying”. “Ken Marino was a fantastic director and really held my hand; I don’t have a lot of experience playing intoxicated or changing anything about myself.”. “He honestly made me feel as good as you can feel while standing on your head,” she adds.
Marino, who plays Ron, the financially constrained leader of the catering staff, says of the episode’s direction. “That was a terrific episode to direct, for sure”. While the rest of the cast praises Garner’s performance.
What Happened in the Next Episode?
In this episode, Evie not only muses about her career but also where she should go next. But she also serves as Sackson’s (Williams’s) spiritual tour guide when he gets his first mushroom high. However, Evie had to submit ideas like Douglas Fir. It was about a man who is part tree and its branch.
Later, she remembers she hasn’t seen or heard from Sackson in a long time and decides to track him down. She ultimately admits, “I lost Sackson,” before spending the rest of the evening looking for him on his live stream.
Williams says that he had a terrific day and laughed a lot. “Alright, it set my mind at ease. And it’s not just me or us who are stepping all over it.”
Starr then chuckles, saying she “always had mushrooms in her system”. Also, to which Hansen responds, “She played it wonderfully”. However, she said “Some people microdose and she microdose,” deadpanned the actor.
On a more serious note, Garner’s new cast members praised her inclusion in the ensemble and the way she blended in. “She’s such a joy to work with and such a sweetheart,” Starr extols. Furthermore, she said, “Surprisingly, she understands our comedy both on and off camera.” She’s personable and a welcome addition to the team.”
Scott maintains that they went out of their way to make her feel at ease. She was fantastic and hilarious right away.”
“She truly is an expert in her profession”. Hansen had a “small crush” on Garner because she was “amazing and very game.” “Also, she astounds me. She is very amazing, and I am grateful to have met her.
Garner Joined This Season
Garner was joined this season by fellow rookies Chao and Williams, and the three of them instantly bonded as a trio. As she looks on Season 3, Chao, who plays the team’s cook Lucy, says. “I mean, we clung to each other.” “I’ve seen about half of the programs. And she’s as beautiful and personable as any Hollywood starlet”.
Still, things worked out in the end. ” She was a doer, and you should be as well. In other words, she didn’t say, “Well, I don’t do such things,” like a celebrity. “Yes, bring it on,” she responded cheerfully.
“I’ve always wanted to know what Jennifer Garner does on mushrooms,” Lynch remarked of her time working with her. So, there’s that.
